@ Koiza...i agree with you that people do expect more from a SRK movie...much more quality than a trashy movie that is being churned out every two mins in BW...and u don't know...how happy that makes me...JTHJ was a polarizing movie and so was Talaash...people either loved it or hated it...I loved both these movies...and for the most part found them OK and entertaining...and seriously...I realize that even though people badmouth JTHJ...I probably should not defend JTHJ...by quoting example from a trashy movie...SRK/Aamir 's movies deserve that much respect..

To be honest JTHJ wasnt even that bad movie either like in the past few yrs BW made it lolz😆
I think it was the story..i told them..take me but nobody listened to me😡

and trust me when i bad mouth srk for JTHJ it has more to do with bad direction of the movie which made good actors like SRK and anushka to not act to their full capabilities.

I feel, like you said, both talaash and JTHJ were based on a certain belief system but my problem lies right here- the problem is not the belief, its the execution which couldn't make me believe in that belief! talaash is also not my belief- i dont believe in imagination or spirits but the execution made me fall for it- thats where the script and direction makes a difference imo which JTHJ majorly lacked

I found SRK brilliant in JTHJ...especially as Major Samar ...I think that a lot of people loved the movie thts why its the 3rd highest grossing world wide...I am sad that u didn't like it...but its OK...maybe next one would be better for you...😛

Major Samar Anand was the only good thing about the movie for me as a viewer. I agree with Koiza, the execution was sloppy

And I hope that the man gets into no controversies in the coming year!

On JTHJ, there are people who loved it and people who hated it. I went for it with family and we all liked it. All my friends loved it. Whereas I know people who didn't like it as well.
For the people who liked the movie, Shahrukh is on the right track.

Aishh...I don't know anyone in my friends who didn't like JTHJ...they all loved it...😆...and u know where I live...everyone watches an SRK movie...😆

@ Kozy: SRK has always been a tremendous actor, no doubt. If I look back at Baazigar, Dar, Anjaam, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, etc, I would guarantee that no one one would have pulled those roles better than he did. Those movies were his - completely!

But over the years, I have come to realize that SRK moved away from mainstream cinema into minting money and getting recognized. His constant diplomatic statements, acting in movies with actresses half his age, jumping around and singing like a lad, etc, ruined his credibility as a matured actor. In this regard, I'd rather give credit to Salman Khan, cuz his movies suit the way he portrays himself as a person in real life. Dabangg 2, for example was very entertaining. I wish it was a bit longer. I truly enjoyed each and every scene. The action scenes were a big superficial, but what the heck, that's what true Masala Bollywood is! If SRK returns back to being himself - the true 90s King Khan, I might develop respect for him again. You never know.

@SatrangiRe: Aamir might have done three idiots in a boyish role. Yes, I agree with you that I was weirded out myself initially. But he pulled the role with ease as a dorky student, hellbent on giving Boman Irani a hard time. But then, that was probably it. He experiments things once and then quits them. The last time he played a cop was probably in Sarfarosh (correct me if I am wrong). Referring to Talaash, he must have played a cop barely like four or five times - Baazi, Aatank Hi Aatank, Sarfarosh and now Talaash. SRK plays his cheesy roles in every other movie. That's the difference.

END OF RANT!

The rant just begun 😆
I agree that Shahrukh has done bad movies recently, I mean since 2009 (except for Don2)..But why do you say he's cheesy in every movie? It's not true. He wasn't chessy pre 2009 era and made many good movies, while Salman or Akshay for example are cheesy all the time.
Also, I don't agree with the famous statement that SRK actig with the grils half his age all the time or that he pretends to be a teen all the time. He only acts like that in JTHJ (although I think that he looks quite younger than he really is in the London part, they just screwed it up with telling he's 28, why don't let him be 35 or something?) and in Ra.One. But if you look at his recent female co - stars you realise that they're all no 20 something girls.
MNIK - Kajol
Ra.One - Kareen
Don 2 - Lara & Priyanka

Only JTHJ is exception here. I know he's doing Chennai Express with Deepika, but what should he do when the Bollywood audience demand young, fresh females as lead?

Also, SRK hasn't acted like a teenage since KKHH, let's take a look at his recent flicks:

MNIK - a step father of teenage boy
Ra.One - a father of teenage boy
Don 2- a well known gangsta, probably in his 40ies
JTHJ- part with major

This man had everything going for him! Imagine! He was offered Lagaan, RDB, Munnabhai MBBS, 3 Idiots, Robot, Slumdog Millionaire but he refused them all and chose to stick to same old YRF/K Jo or Farah Khan films! He was on top through the 90s and naturally first choice of every filmmaker. But blame his knack of sticking to friends for his problems now! He should have been foresighted earlier. What's use of moving away from K Jo now? And neither will hiring new publicists help unless he himself watches his behaviour.

CE might even be a nice entertainer. HNY sounds like a poor choice! Good luck to him!
