Aishu, Maddy is right. VVC Productions and YRF are two entirely different PH. Yes, they are family. VVC is Yash Chopra's nephew (brother's son) but they aren't close.

The topic is about influence of the Khans and Saif Ali Khan doesn't have the Khan power. When we say Khans, it still means Salman-Aamir-SRK. Nobody in the industry can make it big without somebody's support. So of course Vidya got the support of good production houses and Bachchans but then that's because she is talented. She was not a pet of one PH or director.

Even in Aishwarya Rai's case, with all her flops, she still was the 1st choice of many filmmakers. She had the star power and had the guts to offend one Khan and refuse two other Khans, faced their brunt still survived in this sexist industry. She added Bachchan last name at the right time.

I think LadyGaga mentioned Tabu. Yes, I would include her too. The unlucky of the lot is Tabu. She had mentioned many times that the Khans refused films with her because she looked big in front of them and this was even after she was the first choice of filmmakers. The young girls today are taller than the Khans but they are skinny and look young. Tabu lost many good chances. She could have done 7 Khoon Maaf.

Yes, Bride and Prejudice was a hit! It made $24 million (U.S. Dollars) against a budget of $7 million (U.S. Dollars)! Now, if that is not considered a success, what is then?! 😆

Yes, if considered today, Taal would be a hit! But, I think in that time, the Indian box office declared it above average/semi-hit in India! 😃😃😃
