Mali's family plans legal action against Mink?

Mink Brar

The shocking report of eminent photo-journalist and Antara Mali's father Jagdish roaming disoriented and dishevelled on the streets of Mumbai has sent shockwaves across the film industry. However, people close to him are now planning to take legal action against model Mink Brar for spreading wrong information.

Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit, a close friend of the Malis, says he is shocked at the length people go to gain publicity. Mink had apparently witnessed Jagdish wandering aimlessly on the streets in a semi-nude condition.

"This is so wrong! We're shocked at the lengths people go to just to get publicity. What is Mink Brar talking about? Jaggu (Jagdish) is not a crazed-out wanderer on the streets. We don't know what she saw, or rather didn't see. All we know is someone somewhere misinformed the press," said Pandit.

The filmmaker said Jagdish is mentally and physically fine.

"He suffers from the normal ailments at that age. So what? That doesn't make him a nutcase wandering on the streets. Jaggu is a dear and close friend. I meet him regularly. And would we his friends and family allow him to wander on the streets if he was really unwell?" said Pandit.

"Jaggu is in shorts most of the time. He lives an austere life. He hasn't touched a drop of alcohol for the past 15 years," he added.

Pandit said Jagdish's well-wishers are sending a legal notice to Mink.

"What she has done is wrong. It is very unfair to Jaggu and his daughter Antara. She is a good daughter. She takes good care of her father. We are taking legal action against Ms.Brar for serving up misinformation to the media for her own interests," said Pandit.

"You can't do this to someone who defined glam-journalism in the 1970s just because he is no longer in demand," he added.

Meanwhile, reactions over the news have poured in from all quarters.

Veteran actress Raakhee Gulzar, who now lives in her posh farm outside Mumbai said, "It is disturbing to hear something like this. In our country there is no social-security system to ensure such things don't happen."

Raveena Tandon, who looks after her parents while running her own household, thinks such sordid situations can be avoided.

"It can happen to anyone from any walk of life. Everyone gets old. Everyone needs a support system. Friends can only provide moral support. It's the family that needs to look after its senior members," she said.

I am ashamed but I regret nothing: Imam Siddiqui

I am ashamed but I regret nothing: Imam Siddiqui
Imam Siddiqui

Imam Siddiqui, who dons many hats of that of a fashion stylist, television anchor, image consultant and casting director, admitted that at one point of time ego and anger were his best friends. "I lose patience with people very easily. I am learning and struggling to keep my feelings in check without being obnoxious," said Imam, adding that the show has made him more sensitive and patient. However, that doesn't stop his co-contestant Sana Khan from remarking that if Imam was declared a winner, it will be 'time out' (Imam's catch phrase) for the citizens of India. Apparently, Imam rubbed most of the co-contestants the wrong way.

But Imam defends himself by saying that the clips that showed contestants provoking him were probably not shown to people. "Out of 24 hours if they have been shown 10 minutes of my satanic and evil ways for TRP then I have no idea. Of course, there would be people who would hate me for the rest of their lives but this is not the platform to win Miss India or Miss World. People who tried to show attitude, I gave them back. Who are they to judge me and on what basis?" asserted Imam.

Commenting upon his misunderstanding with the show host Salman Khan wherein Imam lost his cool and used his catch-phrase 'Time-out' with Salman, too, Imam said that he was ashamed of it. "I am ashamed but I regret nothing. It was unpleasant and the interaction was unwarranted. I needn't have done that to Salman, he is the sutradhar of the show. I should have done reality check on my self which I did not," said Imam.

Sapna poses for PETA

Sapna poses for PETA
Sapna's PETA ad
Celebrity hairstylist and ex-Bigg Boss inmate Sapna Bhavnani has posed naked for PETA's latest advertising campaign.

The theme of the campaign is Ink, Not Mink, discouraging the use of fur and outfits made from animal skins. The ad also says, "Be comfortable in your own skin, and let animals keep theirs.

Say no to fur and leather." This isn't the first time Bhavnani has shown support to PETA. Two years ago, she appeared in an ad holding a pair of scissors and posing next to the caption, "Cut hair, not frogs. Choose to refuse to dissect animals."

I can't dream of starting a relationship with Rajev: Sana

Actress Sana Khan says that she'll never leave the south Indian film industry

What prompted you to take up Bigg Boss, when you have a flourishing career in south Indian films?
I chose to go on this show because it is one of the most-watched reality shows in the country. Every evening, I'd be on TV screens across the country. While so many people want to be a part of this show, I knew that if I'd get an opportunity to be on it, I would not let it pass.

You were shown as someone obsessed with makeup and mirrors. Is that really you?
Show me a girl who doesn't look into a mirror when she passes one by. As women, we always want to look our best and I don't see a reason why we shouldn't. You won't find me like that when I'm chilling out at home. But this was a show that commanded a high viewership, so I couldn't just be seen the way I'd be at home. After all, everyone on the show was there for visibility.

But being like that earned you the title 'Legally Blonde'.
Well, actually, I gave myself the Legally Blonde title. When one of the people on the show commented that I didn't understand things and was blonde, I used that to my advantage. Unlike many others on the show who seemed unhappy with their lives, I was happy to be a part of the reality show.

Didn't the same happiness and friendship lead to people mistaking you?
I did have a few people who I was extremely attached to, and I think it is natural.

What about your first linkup with Vishal?
Vishal is someone I have known for a long time. Since he entered the show, I expected him to give me more attention as opposed to the 15 strangers there. I think it is natural for one to expect more from the people they are familiar with.

But you were also linked to Rajev Paul...
That is something I still don't understand. I was as good a friend to Rajev as I was to Delnaaz. I consider both of them as people dear to me. I knew that the constant linkup to Rajev could have caused our relationship to sour, but I am glad it hasn't. I cannot even dream of starting a relationship with him.

You managed to walk out as one of the more popular members, even though you didn't win. How was that feeling?
Today, when I get to know that children, especially those between the ages 6-10 were the ones who rooted for me to win, it makes me feel that I did achieve something on the show.

Will this new-found popularity mean you bid adieu to south Indian films?
Never. It was the south Indian film industry that helped me shape my career. I will not discount the idea that I will say yes when I get a good offer from makers there. I've done films there on a regular basis and will continue to do so.

Are you going to be a part of Sohail Khan's film with Salman Khan?
I was made an offer to be a part of that film when I was on the show. Now that I am out, we haven't yet spoken, as Salman is busy with the celebrity matches. I presume we will be meeting later to see what comes out of that, but there's nothing concrete as of yet.

End of friendship for Sana Khan and Vishal Karwal!

Everyone likes to party out hard however; sometimes a little emotional unpleasant pinch can leave a sour taste even in a cheerful ambience of a party.

Something similar happened in the high profile bash of Bigg Boss 6. A party was thrown after the show got over wherein every contestant was present. Though there were a few who didn't share the warmth of the bash but what surprised all was the distance between Sana Khan and Vishal Karwal.

It is to note that during the show, Vishal was always seen praising Sana and the two were even heard of boasting high about their friendship on number of occasions. However, as soon as Vishal got evicted, he quickly called his fondness for Sana a mere infatuation.

During the party, Vishal and Sana didn't acknowledge each other at the after bash nor were they seen mingling. While Vishal was busy dancing with Mink Brar and Karishma Kotak, Sana danced her way out with Rajev Paul and Sayantani Ghosh. As per a source, "Vishal was keen on dating Sana soon after Bigg Boss but then he learnt a few things about her outside the house and he changed his mind. And it's not like he does not want to be friends with her but he preferred maintaining distance at the party."

It is said that Sana maintained the distance as she deeply hurt over one of his statements. During the finale, an AV was played where Vishal was seen saying 'Baki ladke tumhare (Sana) piche ghumte honge…par main unme se nahin hoon".

Well, that's indeed a sad end to their friendship!

Now Sana wants to do movies her parents understand

Now Sana wants to do movies her parents understand
Sana KhanMore Pics

Sana Khan, second runner-up of " Bigg Boss 6", says the reality show has opened Bollywood doors for her and finally she will do movies that her parents would understand.

"There were times when I used to work hard to get a southern film. When my first film happened, it just happened and that was the biggest opportunity for me. It gave me a lot of fame in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam - all the four language movies," the 25-year-old said here at a party she threw to celebrate 100 days of "Bigg Boss 6".

But due to language barrier, her parents couldn't enjoy them.

"'Bigg Boss' has given me another platform for Bollywood. My parents used to come and watch my films but they couldn't understand. They used to say, 'Do something that we can understand'," she said and added that after "Bigg Boss" "my friends call me and ask me to do soemthing in Hindi films".

When asked about any Hindi film offers in her kitty, Sana didn't say much.

"I don't talk about any project till the time it starts. There are certain things, certain offers but till the time they don't start with lights, camera, action, I don't want to comment on anything," she said.

"You know how it is. Today you have it and tomorrow you end up getting nothing, so I don't want to look like a fool. The day I will start working, I am sure it will be all out," she added.

Mink is a very straight forward and strong person: Niketan

Mink is a very straight forward and strong person: Niketan
Niketan Madhok

Supermodel Niketan Madhok has no time to breathe since the day he's left Bigg Boss house. From visiting Shirdi with his parents to attending press conferences, media activities, catching up with friends he's running on a tight schedule. Initially considered as a weak link in the house, the supermodel soon turned out as 'audience's favourite'. The hunk, who was chosen as the 4th finalist of BB6 has no qualms about not winning but considers reaching top five in itself a big achievement. In a candid chat Niketan Madhok talks about his camaraderie with Mink, being protective about Karishma, his experiences in the house and lots more:

From day one Sidhu ji, Delnaaz and Urvashi were considered top three contenders who were going to battle it out. You were considered a weak link initially but over the period audience seemed to like your calmness. It was widely speculated that you were going to be the Big Boss 6 winner. Were you equally shocked like the audience when Imam stayed but you were taken out?
At the end it was viewer's choice which I don't want to overrule. Reaching the finale in itself is a big thing and then winning or losing does not really matter. Having said that I would also like to add that the order of votes kept changing every minute. Had they stopped the voting say after or before half an hour I am sure the order would have changed. But I think getting into the finals makes a huge difference.

There were many hilarious, gloomy, fun moments in the house. Which was your best and worst moment in the house.
Well all the 99 days in the house I had fun moments. Initially people were breaking down a lot so I tried my best to be there for them and make everyone happy. I never got into any kind of fight that would make me or others uncomfortable.

Much was talked about you and Mink during your stay at BB house. We saw a chemistry building up... so tell us about that.
Mink was the first new face to arrive in the house after the first lot. So everyone was curious and wanted to know how they were being projected outside. Everyone wanted information from her. But, I never went up to her to ask any of this and after two days she came to me and said that 'you know everyone's been coming to me to ask about them but you are the only one who did not'. I told her that these things don't really matter to me. And this is the point where we started talking. Mink could not blend in with most of the inmates so we started hanging out and spending more time together. I feel Mink is a very straight forward and strong person and it's really fun to be with her.

So have you called or met her after the show?
Yes, I spoke to her and would definitely like to catch up not only with Mink but with everyone who were there in the house with me.

You seemed to get too protective about your ex-flame Karishma Kotak too.
The day Karishma entered the house she knew her father may not be there when she gets back and she told me this. It was a very difficult emotional time for her. She at times doubted her decision of coming to BB leaving her dad behind so I just wanted to be the shoulder she could lean on. She was very vulnerable at that time and I did not want people to hurt her. There were many people inside the house who pretended to be empathetic but made fun of her later. All I could do was take care of her and provide her the comfort and support she needed.

Tell us about your equation with Urvashi.
I was not sure of what would I do in Bigg Boss house. I knew Sapna and Karishma from before but apart from us everyone was from the same field and had formed a bond already. People started making opinions about me and I was made the soft target. The same thing happened with Urvashi too. Her own close friends whom she had known from a very long time turned against her and convinced others to do so. Urvashi was isolated and kept crying. But thanks to Bigg Boss, we got to do some tasks together and then gradually she opened up to me. She realised the views she had about me were incorrect and from there on our friendship grew.

Who are the people from the big B house, you're definitely going to catch up and be in touch with.
I think everyone... I have had a great time with them and would love to meet them in future. Infact, they all were willing to meet my parents and gave them so much of love and respect. I am grateful to all of them for this.

So what have you planned for the future? Are you open to doing more reality shows and small screen?
I am happy doing fashion shows and if something interesting comes my way I would not mind joining small screen. However, I feel non fiction and intellectual shows are what I would love to do and enjoy thoroughly.
