Well, we Indians as a "race' are less tolerant towards our own people. Thats the difference between us and Chinese (to cite an example). I see many a times, desis frowining upon seeing a desi..! The Medico's at the Uni Hopsital would look down on us, FOBs many years ago. I used to experience this strange apathy from these people. Now many years later, I wouldnt care to glance a second time at this folks😳
This lady who is settled down here tells me that her kids are very happy to spend their summer hols in india. You know why?>? Coz, in India they can throw trash on the streets which they cant do in US. Such are the kinds of people, who wouldnt change even if rooted from one culture and placed into other😕
Sunshine, I tell you... When I was a FOB, the ordinary, sloppily-dressed desi walking down the street would look at me and scowl! And, then once in while, if one of them would strike a conversation, the first thing that they'd say would be that I don't look 'completely' Indian... and the second thing would be a question about my caste, the third would be whether I am seeing someone, fourth would be the amount of money I get from my fellowship... you get the idea?! It is okay to ask these questions, in the first one minute that you get acquainted with a random stranger!🤢
If the conversation foes any further, racist jokes about "Krauts" and "Kartoffeln" would begin (in Hindi, of course); and ironically, this is followed by how someone called this desi a "Paki" two years ago... Bolo!
And
is par... there is this ultra-right-wing delusion that Indians are amongst the most sophisticated and beautiful people... and yet the dude would look so ugly and have such a pathetic outlook...
Okay... I think that we should stop this discussion here... People might start accusing us of spamming now! 😉😛
