In this article she says she had a mishap with water when she was young, so shes hydrophobic. In khan sisters, to add that 'cool' elemnt when she swims, maybe for that she did it only for the cameras.

Im giving her the benefit if doubt, but to say she doesnt know swimming was an outright lie.
