OK first of all, my mum used to watch DABH regularly for a very long time and she wouldn't know his name, a lot of their dedicated viewers wouldn't either. ---Viewer's perspective done.
Job requirement/Same industry/Basic knowledge:
Why are actors being compared to employees of IT industry or any other for that matter? I'm confused 😕
How is an actor hired?
Audition, portfolio, look tests,...etc
How will her knowledge of existence or non-existence of a particular TV actor be helpful to her career? When did knowing every popular actor's name become mandatory to exist in the same field?!
People in IT industry "depending on the position they're hired for or are being interviewed for" are required to know some of the popular names in the business, their basic details, working pattern and commonalities, differences of and why is that? ...because that knowledge is helpful to their job.---For majority of the companies I know, it is a basic requirement to know the leading companies' outline at least.
How is knowing Anas Rashid helpful to any other actor?
Going into details of how each industry is different from one another will be tedious and unnecessary to an entertainment forum.
Both industries are poles apart, comparing these two is like comparing Apples and Okra i.e. it doesn't make any sense.
The normal interviewing/hiring process for any actor won't require them to know details of anyone or anything other their own cast, team, Production house,..etc.
As far as her IQ/GK is concerned, I'd be the first one to join these posts judging her for her answers if this was a show intended to test one's GK or IQ. This is not Paanchvi paas... or KBC, this is Biggboss. These contestants didn't sign up for that. They had to fill their vapid air time, they decided to take a piss at the contestants. And which contestant was "intelligent" by the way? All of them came off very "dumb"...they were put on spot, they effed up.
Now, coming to basic courtesy/reality show/home work:
She worked in Television ages ago and if she were to be asked about her contemporaries and all the current leads of the production house she worked with she'd know. That's how everyone works as well. I'd know about the people I work with and interact with regularly, my clients and important heads in the company...that is all.
What kind of homework is one expected to do actually?
All the lead actors, actresses, side actors, production houses on all channels...etc...learn them by rote before entering the house just in case one comes face to face with a particular situation where one is asked to select a list of people and rank their celebrity factor or whatever.
It isn't a requirement to know who he is and she actually made his "name" popular. He should be a little thankful for that. 😛
