Actor Vishal hasn't been able to make a mark for himself yet but remains undeterred.
Mention Sanju from Dekh Bhai Dekh and the audience will immediately be reminded of the cute college kid who stole every teenage girl's heart in the hit comedy show. And Vishal Singh, who's long since moved on and worked in serials like Astitva, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na and Ek Ladki Anjaani Si, says that he is only too happy that people still remember him as Sanju. It's my biggest identity till date, he admits and then ads, Even after all these years, I take it in a positive manner because it means that the show and the character must have left such an impact on the viewers.
But considering that it has been years that Vishal portrayed that role, doesn't he wish that people would know him now as Dr Dev, the character he's portraying currently in Bhabhi? People do connect me with this show as well. Maybe it hasn't created that much of an impact but yes, I'm known by both these characters, says Vishal. Although the actor admits that most serials these days do nothing for male actors, Vishal says he's glad to be a part of Bhabhi.
All shows in India are women oriented, so to get a chance to portray a character almost equal to that of the female protagonist is really challenging, he adds. And although he does not have anything else in his kitty at the moment, Vishal will soon be seen shaking a leg with Rucha Gujrathi in an episode of Sapna Babul Ka... Bidaai. I acted in director Rajan Shahi's directorial venture Tumhara Intezaar Hai and he kind of considers me his lucky mascot, smiles Vishal, So when he asked me to dance in this show which is his first serial as a producer, I had to be a part of it.
Last year, the actor had received a lot of flak for having put on a lot of weight. Yes but I managed to lose 14 kilos after that! he says. Vishal is maintaining his weight now by going to the gym and diet control. On the personal front, Vishal is single but quite ready to mingle! Unfortunately, nothing interesting is happening in my personal life, he says and adds with a smile, I'm waiting for the right companion to come along, my Miss Right
