That night Vidya announced the news about the soccer game to her parents. Vidya's dad was happy but her mom wasn't as much. Vidya looked towards her dad saying, "Dad, now can you buy me a nice car, I've been driving this Honda, Civic, for 3 years now. Vidya's dad didn't reply. Vidya looked over at her mom and asked, "Mom, you agree right? You think I should get a new car?" Vidya's mom smiled forcefully saying, "Ye, ye" Vidya looked confused, "what's wrong? Is it about the game?" Vidya's mom forced a smile on her face and said, "I'm proud of you, just..." Vidya cut her off, "OH, no not again, never mind, mom I don't want to hear it."

Vidya's mom-Vidya come on, you know I'm right.

Vidya looked over to her dad, "Dad, make her stop!"

Vidya's dad-Vidya, your mom is right

Vidya was shocked, "But DAD!!"

Vidya's mom- Listen Vidya, you won't get anything out of soccer. Next thing you know, you'll be running with the ball while holding a pot in one hand and a baby in another

Vidya stood up, "Ok, mom, I said I'm not getting married, now you're talking about kids?" She said that and stomped to her room. Vidya's dad nodded his head in disappointment towards Vidya's mom.

Vidya's mom-You have to knock some sense in that girl, because it's obvious she's not listening to me.

Vidya's dad-I'm going to talk to her, next time don't bring this topic up.

Vidya's dad knocked on Vidya's door and walked in. Vidya was lying on her bed reading a book.

Vidya saw him and sat up. Vidya's Dad sat beside her, "Vidya, I know you don't like the conversations you have with your mom, but she's right" Vidya looked at her dad with a sad face, "Not you too dad, why do you guys want to get rid of me so fast"

Vidya's dad- Who said that, we just want you to think about it. She said that WHEN you DO get married, your occupation won't be soccer anymore"

Vidya nodded her head, "But that doesn't mean I'm getting married any time soon" Vidya's dad smiled saying, "I know, don't worry, you'll never get forced to a marriage as long as I'm here" Vidya smiled and hugged her father. As she moved back she added, "Oh, and dad, there's a party because of our game tomorrow, at my friend's house tomorrow night, I didn't want to ask in front of mom, because..." Vidya's dad smiled and agreed, "I'll make your mom approve, plus you don't need her approval if you have mine" Vidya's dad got up to leave, saying, "Oh, and don't tell your mom I said that." Vidya laughed along with her dad.

The next day was a Friday, and after class, Vidya and Gina headed to practise, while Marina sat on the bench watching. Meanwhile, Sagar and the guys were headed there for their practise. The girls were on one side of the field while the guys were on the other. Both of the team's coaches had announced a match that would be taking place between the girls and the guys. Everyone was excited. The teams met at the centre of the field. The coaches announced for the captains to stand in front of each other and decide who should start. Vidya and Sagar both stood in front of each other. Sagar had a smile on his face (with all the ladies), while Vidya on the other hand had a serious face.

Vidya looked him straight in the eyes and said, "I'd feel sorry if we won without you guys even getting your hands on the ball, so how about you guys start" Sagar hearing that raises his eyebrows surprised, "I said you were good, I didn't say you were THAT good, besides you are being too modest" Sagar hands Vidya the ball saying, "Ladies first."
