| What attracted me to take up the role of Simran in Astitva? | |
| Primarily it was the chance to work with Ajai Sinha who is respected for the type of work that he creates. Astitva was a story that did not let his reputation down! I found the plot very realistic and was not like the usual humdrum stuff that has been on TV of late! | |
| Do you relate to the character of Dr Simran? Is that sort of character you'd portray in real life? | |
| I find her too serious but I really admire her ideals! I admire the strength of character she shows. | |
| Does Dr Simran represent today's Indian Woman? | |
| No she doesn't but she should! | |
| What kind of Homework do you do before stepping into the shoes of Dr Simran? | |
| I have a very good friend of my husbands who is a practising Gynaecologist who I consult on the medical details of the show. The rest is almost 2nd nature I have been doing the character for over 3 yrs now and have a good understanding of how she thinks. I never read the script before the shot I want to try and emote the feelings the character should have as naturally as I can, as opposed to being rehearsed which can seem artificial. I just hope that the audience is feeling what I am trying to emote. | |
| Astitva is a very popular show amongst viewers in Asia Pacific. What's the rare quality that sets it apart from other serials? | |
| Well firstly I'm so happy people of this region are watching and liking my show!! In the real world women do not sleep in the best clothes and jewellery and wake up with about six kilo's of make up on!! So I would say that it is real and believable!! | |
| How would you react if you were in a similar situation in reel life ? | |
| I guess Similarly although you can never tell until you are in that situation! | |
| How do you react when people call you a look-alike of Madhuri Dixit? | |
| Well I have heard it a few times now although I am not entirely convinced but I'm sure people cant be wrong or at least I hope they are not cause I think it would be a compliment and who doesn't like compliments?? I'm just happy my husband thinks I look better than her!!! | |
| You started your career in modelling & made a brief appearance in Films. Any plans to join the film bandwagon again? | |
| Definitely not the typical Bollywood type of film but I will consider any films with an exciting role in it!! | |
| What are your future plans? | |
| I am looking at everything one day at a time at the moment. I am enjoying everything I have, my husband, my friends and my work! | |

| Yes definitely!! I really hope they are appreciating the hard work, long hours and effort that we all in Astitva are putting in to bring them this serial. | |
