Chapter 4
They were brought into a warehouse. Finally they were thrown in a closed room, and the blindfolds removed. The room smelled of old papers. It was all dark, and there was only a small window on one side in the top corner, and since its panes were covered with dust, not much light was coming in.
"Aisha, what will we do now?" Sakshi asked in a terrified way.
Aisha mentally stopped her planning, and turned to look in a reassuring way at Sakshi. She was used to this things, her job made her live dangerously, but she could see that Sakshi wasn't used to such things.
She nodded her head in a comforting way and said, "Sab theek hoga! Did you forget that we are the ETF, no one can escape from our seniors' eyes! And not to say Arjun, the supercop! They'll find us, till then we have to also try our best and escape," Aisha said and started to look around again.
Sakshi knew that Aisha was only trying to comfort her, but since she didn't want to add to Aisha's tensions, she kept quiet and also looked around for a way out.
"Running from here won't be that easy!" Aisha muttered.
"Nope it wont, and we don't even know how many people are there outside of this room!" Sakshi said nervously.
"From what I could hear of the voices, there may be around ten people outside from a rough guess," Aisha said. She knew that even she couldn't deal with ten persons at a time, and if Arti was an example of what they could do, well she was going to lose very quickly.
But being a cop, she couldn't just give up, without at least trying. She also had to warn her team, these people were up to no good, she could feel that this case was more than just a simple kidnapping case.
While in the ETF office
They were all walking angrily in the conference room. Till now they didn't have much proof of anything. What they knew was that Aisha and Sakshi had been kidnapped, and Arti and Mrs Shireen was also missing. But from the blood loss, it seemed that at least one was heavily injured or dead by now, and till now they were still waiting for Liza's results to know who it was.
But they all knew that they had no new leads at all. Sakshi's bag and Aisha's gun was lying on the conference table.
"Shree, any more info on Anuj or his wife? Or even Arti?" Arjun said for the hundredth time since the past hours.
"Nothing yet, Anuj was a middle-case and simple man. He neither had too much or too less money. Shireen was a housewife and didn't work at all. There's nothing from their bank statements or even call records to link them to anything dangerous!" Shree replied helplessly.
"And what about Arti? Anything more about her?" Rathore asked.
"Not really, except her friend's address, we don't have much on her. But I'm searching for more information on her," Shree replied.
Just then Chotu barged in, and his facial expressions already conveyed that there was a bad news.
"Kya hein?" Rathore asked anxiously.
"Sir..." Chotu started, and then knowing how to proceed stopped.
"Chotu!" Arjun retorted, "Do you even intend to say anything, or will you stay as a statue for long!"
"The police just called... they found... I mean they called to say that... a body... a female body..." Chotu stammered.
Even if his words were incoherent, they all managed to understand what Chotu was saying.
Their faces paled with worry, and all rushed to that location hoping desperately that it wasn't Aisha or Sakshi's body.
Half an hour later
They were relieved for a short period. It wasn't Sakshi or Aisha's bodies. But their relief didn't last for long, because it was Shireen's body, and this meant that their friends were still in danger, and they didn't have much clue still.
"Try to see if anyone saw anything," Arjun said to Shree and Chotu, and then turning towards Liza, "try to find out as much as possible from the bullet found in her. We can at least get a lead if we know the type of gun used."
"Yes Sir," they said and went away.
Arjun turned to look at Rathore, who was angrily cursing himself.
"We'll find them," Arjun said in a calming voice.
"Really and how? We don't have much lead! And we don't even know where and how they are!" Rathore roared and went away.
Arjun looked at Rathore's retreating form and thought that this was Rathore's only weakness. Rathore cared too much about his team, and if something even happened to them, Rathore would break down.
In the warehouse
"They have found her body," one man was saying to Arti.
"Good, they'd be more involved there," Arti said. She was hoping that they'd follow the lead they gave, which was a fake one. She had purposedly asked her men to take the body in the opposite direction that they were taking when they left the apartment.
"Throw it on the outskirts of the city," Arti had said.
At least for some time, no one would be coming to this warehouse. She guessed she'd have to move after a few hours, sticking to one place was never her style.
She turned towards her boss and asked what was the next stage...
In the closed room
Sakshi had started to cough a bit now, she wasn't used to this much of dust, and given there wasn't proper ventilation, she had started to feel uncomfortable.
Aisha stared helplessly at Sakshi, she hadn't even come up with a plan on how to escape, when the door was opened, and in strode Arti.
"Well well, this place isn't really for you fragile ladies," Arti said with fake compassion, and then walking to Sakshi, dragged her up.
"Let's go, I'll take you to a better and more worthy place for you," Arti said and dragged a struggling Sakshi away after again putting a black cloth on her eyes.
"Don't touch her! Let her!" Aisha was shouting, but given her tied hands and feet, she couldn't do much.
"Aishaaa," was the last word Aisha heard before the door was closed, and darkness again engulfed the room and Aisha's heart and hope now.
In the ETF office
Arjun was waiting for the postmortem results. He sincerely hoped that at least a clue was there. He was waiting patiently when suddenly he heard some noises and then turned to see a few persons entering the conference room.
"What the hell!" Arjun said, but before he could say anything, Rathore was also coming inside with behind them.
"What is all this?" Arjun asked to Rathore ignoring the other men.
"Rawte, this is far more complicated than what we thought! These gentlemen are from the special army forces and some are undercover agents! Arti, or should I say Miss A as she has herself called, is one dangerous lady," Rathore said with false humor, and then let the other men add their parts in.
As more information was given, their hopes of finding Aisha and Sakshi alive diminished drastically.
