Zee5 & Zee Studios to Develop a Film on Indian Basketball Player Satnam Singh Bhamara

The life and struggle of sports stars have been inspiring several filmmakers in Bollywood. With the success of movies like Mary Kom, M.S. Dhoni, Sachin among others, the trend has now shifted to digital front. Recently, Netflix and Hotstar's docu-series like Cricket Fever-Mumbai Indians on the Indian Premier League’s Mumbai Indians team and Roar of The Lion on the life of former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni created waves among digital audience. Now, Zee5 and Zee Studios have announced their first biopic based on the life of a sportsperson.

Zee5 and Zee Studios have announced an original film based on the life of Indian Basketball player Satnam Singh Bhamara. The film will chronicle and celebrate the inspirational story of his life. 

Satnam took to his social media to share his joy. “It's an amazing moment to see your own life's journey captured into a film! Absolutely unreal! Thank you @ZeeStudios_ & @ZEE5Premium for making this film! #SatnamSinghOnZEE5,” he tweeted.

Satnam who plays for St. John’s Edge of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBL), became the first Indian player to be drafted into the National Basketball Association (NBA). He has represented India at the FIBA Asia Championship in 2011, 2013 and 2017.
