The Coronavirus pandemic has brought the world to a standstill and many nations are trying their best to combat this virus. The impact has brought down the global economy as many countries are trying their best to recover from the loss inflicted by COVID-19. However, there’s no denying that the people who are most affected by the virus are daily wage workers in the film industry.

Now, to avoid the loss of their worthy assets, YRF has decided to help them in times of tension.

A report in Pinkvilla quoted a source that suggested - YRF is reaching out to thousands of daily wage earners of the industry and their families who are in critical need of support. Aditya Chopra’s production house has already collected details of their bank accounts for a transfer.

The source also added that 'The Yash Chopra Foundation' will be crediting the donation directly into the banks of these people in dire need so that the money reaches these strata quickly and the process is more efficient during the time of lockdown. In Phase 1 of the support plan, YRF will be paying out Rs. 1.5 crore to these workers and their families, adds the industry source.

The lockdown for COVID-19 has disrupted the lives of workers leaving them bankrupt.

Previously, the Producers Guild of India has set up a relief fund for daily wage workers who will be hit by the complete shutdown of all film, television, and web series industry. The coronavirus pandemic has forced a dramatic closure of the industry as a precautionary measure as the shoots from March 19 to April 14 have been called-off as Mumbai is under complete lockdown.

The shocking and unprecedented exodus of daily wage workers amid the 21-day lockdown has spread concern across India. While the nation was put on a standstill, the government has been taking up the right measures to contain the spread of the virus.

Meanwhile, several celebrities too have come forward to help the government provide necessary rations.
