Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actor Sachin Tyagi on why emotions matter more than Astrology

Sachin Tyagi plays the role of Chetan in Ishika Shahi’s web series Jabb Zodiacs Met, produced by Rajan Shahi under Director’s Kut Production. The series is streaming on the official YouTube channel and premiered on January 16. Sachin appears in the second episode, which revolves around the zodiac sign Taurus.

Astrology Was Never the Main Focus

Talking about the show's concept, Sachin shared that astrology or sun signs were not what attracted him to the project. He explained that he does not closely follow zodiac signs and that this aspect did not influence his preparation as an actor. Instead, he was drawn to the emotional depth of the story, the relationships portrayed, and the situations the characters go through.

According to him, while zodiac themes may frame the narrative, they do not define the essence of the characters. What mattered more was how the characters respond to circumstances and emotions, making the story relatable beyond astrological references.

Choices, Not Signs shape Characters

Sachin further added that although factors like date or time of birth may influence a person’s nature, he does not believe in boxing individuals into fixed zodiac traits. For him, characters are defined by their decisions, emotional responses, and lived experiences rather than by astrological labels.

He also revealed that he did not look up his own zodiac sign while preparing for the role of Chetan. Instead, his focus remained on portraying the character's emotional journey honestly and realistically.

Views on Destiny and Success

Sharing his thoughts on destiny, Sachin clarified that he does believe in it, but feels the idea goes much deeper than astrology alone. He explained that success, relationships, and life outcomes depend on several factors, including effort, preparation, and intent, rather than being predetermined by stars or zodiac signs.

Working With Ishika Shahi

Speaking about his experience of working with the show’s creator, Ishika Shahi, Sachin appreciated her approach to filmmaking. He described her as someone with a fresh perspective, strong storytelling instincts, and a grounded outlook rooted in human values. He also highlighted the creative freedom she gives actors while instilling confidence in them.

Sachin concluded by expressing his belief in Ishika’s future as a filmmaker. While acknowledging that success depends on many factors beyond hard work, he shared his confidence that she will do well as a creator in the long run.
