Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai: Abhira keeps ignoring hints that Maira is Pookie until the truth comes out

Star Plus' Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is getting more emotional and intense with every new episode. Anshuman decides to put his wedding with Abhira on hold and promises to marry her only after finding her lost daughter, Pookie. He starts a worldwide search using DNA tests. Just as the family is trying to process everything, Armaan suddenly gets hospitalised. Meanwhile, Anshuman gives Abhira a big surprise by saying he has found Pookie. Abhira is overjoyed when a little girl calls her "mumma", and she feels like her long-lost daughter is finally back.

But Kaveri, who knows the real truth, finds it hard to stay quiet. She questions the woman who claims to have raised the child and is shocked when the woman shows a frock that looks just like the one Pookie was wearing the day she disappeared.

Abhira falls silent, confused and emotional, as she feels a strong motherly bond, not with the girl everyone believes is Pookie, but with Maira. Just then, the girl believed to be Pookie comes forward and says that Abhira failed to recognise her during the game. This makes Abhira start questioning her own feelings. She wonders why she was unable to recognise her daughter, and troubling thoughts begin to take over as she questions why she didn’t feel the emotional connection she expected with her child.

Soon after, Anshuman enters the scene and lightens the mood by offering ice cream to the girls. Both Maira and the girl believed to be Pookie excitedly say yes. Anshuman hands one tub of ice cream to each of them. Maira sweetly offers him a spoon to taste, and then both girls happily run off to enjoy their treat.

Later, Anshuman sits down with Abhira and notices she is lost in thought. When he asks her what's bothering her, Abhira opens up to him. She admits that she isn’t getting the feeling of Pookie from the girl who is believed to be her daughter. She explains that whenever she hugs her, it doesn’t feel like she’s hugging Pookie.
