The makers of popular romantic drama Yeh Hai Mohabbatein have come up with a spin-off series titled Yeh Hai Chahatein. Starring Sargun Kaur Luthra and Abrar Qazi in lead roles, Yeh Hai Chahatein will also deal with social issues like single parenthood and much more. The makers have pulled the plug on Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, a show that ruled millions of hearts, but fret not fans because a similar story with some twists is here to keep you entertained.
Here’s the first impression of the show:
The show starts with introducing the audience with Ishita’s niece Dr. Preesha’s South Indian family, which consists of her father, mother (who teaches classical music) and Preesha, a gynecologist. Within two minutes of Preesha’s entry, the fact that her hatred for rockstar Rudraksh is established.
Preesha and her family head towards Ishita and Raman’s house where after Ruhi, Ishita and Raman get married. After the wedding, when Ishita performs the ritual of Kaleerein, it drops on Preesha’s head which indicates that she will be the next one to get married. Later, Ishita asks her to visit a community arrange marriage ceremony to find herself a nice boy.
At the ceremony, we are introduced to rockstar Rudraksh, a reckless, flamboyant and egoist rockstar who is loved by everyone. Dr. Preesha and Rudraksh happen to come face to face and also have their very first argument in the first meet. As the episode proceeds, we are also introduced to Dr. Preesha’s son, Saransh and to the fact that she is a single mother and that’s why no man is ready to marry her.
Sargun Kaur Luthra as Preesha is very charming and lovely. Her eyes speak a lot and she totally fits the character that she is playing. Abrar Qazi as Rokstar Rudraksh has slid into the skin of the character easily and looks dashing. Both the actor compliment each other very well and their jodi is already a hit. There was no scope for the supporting characters much in the first episode, however we like Indira Krishnan and Vijay Kashyap as Preesha’s parents spread magic on screen.
Storyline & Screenplay:
Well, the show deals with social issues like single parenthood and equality of women which is great for the start. The show has a feel good factor to it just like Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. However, the first episode looked a bit rushed.
If you are a fan of Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, this one is a must watch for you. It will remind you of YHM but has a very different essence. Sargun and Abrar’s chemistry is also the highlight of the show.
