#WrapUpJan:10 News that created waves in the industry in January 2016!

Usually, we list down the biggest controversies and events at the end of the year. However, the first month of 2016 has already proved to be an eventful one. A lot of interesting events and happenings were witnessed in the industry this month!

Take a look at the top 10 news from January 2016 that startled one and all!

1. 'Comedy Nights with Kapil' going off air!

One of the most popular and loved shows, 'Comedy Nights with Kapil' went off air after completing a successful run for almost two and a half years! The only bitter part about it going off air was that there was a lot of commotion and controversy surrounding it and did not end on a good note.

2. Prince Narula winning 'Bigg Boss 9-Double Trouble'.

Irony proved to work wonders where a contestant, who was rejected by four girls at the start of the season went on to emerge as the winner. Prince Narula, now winner of three reality shows consecutively, some people have starting to dub him as the reality king! Justifies it, eh?

3.       3 legal affairs revolving around molestation!

There were three different actors who were involved in molestation cases. The first case was filed by Parth Samthaan who claimed that Vikas Gupta had molested him followed by another case was filed against Mrunal Jain by actress Visha Bhagwani. However, it was later withdrawn. The third case was filed by actress Pratyusha Bannerjee who claimed that a group of policemen had entered her house and molested her!
   

4.       2 successful shows going off air!

It was a sad moment for the numerous fans, when it confirmed that 'Qubool Hai' is going off air and did. The show had four seasons and had created a strong fanbase over the years. Another news which broke just recently was about another extremely popular show, 'Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi' set to off air soon which shocked several fans leaving them dismayed and disappointed.

5.       2 major shows taking a leap!

Popular shows, 'Chakravartin Ashok Samrat' and 'Udann' which has been around for a considerable time and garnered appreciation. The popularity of its child protagonists led to the success of the shows. However, both the shows will be taking a leap soon which will see grown up actors taking over!
 

6.       Divyanka Tripathi's engagement.

After her much discussed breakup with actor Ssharad Malhotra, actress Divyanka Tripathi surprised everyone announcing her engagement with her 'Yeh Hai Mohabbatien' co-star Vivek Dahiya! Their engagement pictures created a major buzz in the media!
 

7.       MoNaya's wedding!

The whole fan world was waiting for one of the most anticipated weddings for a long time, which included one of the most loved couples. Sanaya Irani and Mohit Sehgal had been dating since a long time and finally tied the knot on a private beach in Goa, which created a viral when their wedding pictures were out!

8.       Nandish Sandhu and Rashami Desai part ways.

News about the couple going through a rocky patch was surfacing before they participated in 'Nach Baliye 7'. Nandish and Rashami termed the show to be another chance at their marriage. However, after the show ended, another string of rumours floated about them parting ways which happened this month, where the couple filed for a divorce!

9.       Karan Singh Grover back on TV!

Karan Singh Grover became a heartthrob of millions with his first stint in 'Dill Mill Gayye'. Now, a Bollywood star, he sure knows his grounds and realises the same. The actor who was last seen in a major role in the show, 'Qubool Hai' will be back on television soon hosting the upcoming season of the popular dance reality show 'Nach Baliye'!
 

10.   Naagin getting an extension!

The popular show 'Naagin' was supposed to go off air in January as it was intended finite series. However, the sparing popularity and impressive TRPs enabled the makers to get an extension! There is also talk about the second season of the show coming up and none other than actor Gurmeet Chaudhary may be playing the lead this time around!
