Theatre is a platform which might not give you fame but will definitely make a gem out of you. Theatre has given many big actors to the industry. Be it Bollywood or Television, many popular faces on TV have done theatre acting at some point of their lives. There are ace actors who have tasted the success on the screen but still stick to theatre, out of love and passion which they have for acting.
Today is world theatre day and so, we have created a list of Television actors who were and are of part of theatre :
Did you know Ishqbaaaz actor Nakuul Mehta was part of theatre. Nakuul with his amazing performances in his last shows, has garnered much love from the audience. The actor became a household name in no time. He shared an old picture from his theatre days on his Instagram handle.
Ratna Pathak Shah

The list would be incomplete without the Pathak sisters. Ratna Pathak has enthralled the audience with her performances, be it in Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai on TV or Bollywood movies like Lipstick Under My Burkha, Mirch Masala and Mandi. She has also acted in several Russian plays, as well as co-founding and being an active member of "Motley Theatre Group'.

"Helo, how are? Khana Khake Jana" heard it somewhere? Supriya Pathak who played Hansa Parekh in the iconic comedy show Khichdi and brought laugh riots in our homes. She is a famous stage actor who started her career with theatre and moved on to work in Bollywood movies and Television shows. Her first play was titled as Maina Gurjari, in which she incidentally acted alongside her mother, Dina Pathak, who was also a theatre artist.

Kokila Modi (Rupal Patel) from Saath Nibhana Saathiya is a popular theatre artist. Yes, you read it right! Rupal is a famous theatre actor and has done many Gujarati plays. We have already seen her acting chops in her show. The actress also owns a theatre group named as Panorama Art Theatre which is involved in children's plays.
We all have seen Bhavya Gandhi in Sab TV's popular show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. He left the show to pursue film acting and made his debut with a Gujarati film titled Pappa Tamne Nai Samjaay. However, these days the actor is also seen in Gujarati plays. Recently, he was seen in a Gujarati play, Baap Kamaal, Dikro Dhamaal.
Rohitash V Gour
The Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain actor was a theatre actor during his initial days in Mumbai. In an interview with TOI, he has said, " "I used to do theatre in Mumbai when I didn't have a lot of work on TV. I used to work with Shubha Khote and Biju Khote. I have taken up many projects in professional theatre in Delhi too."

Deven Bhojani is an actor and director. He made his Television debut with Malgudi Days in 1983. However, he is best known for his role in Baa Bahu Aur Baby and Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai. He is also a famous theatre artist, known for Gujarati plays.
Other actors like Delnaaz Irani, Mona Singh, Rohit Roy, Shweta Tiwari and Jay Soni have also worked in theatre.
