Working with Balaji, thoughts on OTT platforms - Gagan Anand opens up

Alt Balaji has been on quite a streak with its shows and it recently continued with the same with an anthology series, Hai Taubba. We recently went on to have an exclusive interview with actor Gagan Anand, who plays the role of Nikhil in one of the stories. While earlier he talked about his character and what was about it that attracted him to the show, we further asked him about his general thoughts on OTT platforms and how is the pandemic posing a challenge to his career.

Apart from that, having been an actor who has worked on multiple shows with Balaji, we asked him how is it different working for Alt Balaji apart from Balaji in the TV space.

He first said, "Web is real content and TV is a Medium that takes the flight of escapism at times. For me, TV pays my bills and web satisfies my creative hunger. And since Balaji straddles both platforms - I have massive gratitude to the creatives working there." About OTT platforms, he said, "OTT makes clutter breaking content. Alt is clearly a platform that takes chances and brings real content. Stories like His Story, Hai Taubba and Patal Lok on Amazon are my favourite shows  Netflix - I only watch for international content though."

And finally about the career challenges, he said, "More than career challenges - it poses human challenges. Survival is key and more important than that is a positive outlook . And that’s need of the hour."
