Zee TV’s much-loved kids' reality show, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs 2019 finally got its winner. Finalist Sugandha Date, a fourteen-year-old singer from Mumbai bagged the winner’s trophy. This was the seventh season of the music reality show, judged by Amaal Malik, Richa Sharma and Shaan along with a jury of eminent singers. Ravi Dubey hosted the show. Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani were the guests for the finale episode. The other finalists included Mohammad Faiz, Pritam Acharya, Anushka Patra, Ayush KC and Astha Das.
Sugandha expressed her joy and happiness to us, talking about her victory and this journey, she said, “It feels amazing... The entire top 6 was strong enough to win this trophy, but I am super happy to have won the show. All hard work has paid off. This journey was fantastic, filled with lots of learning and experience... All the judges and jury members have taught us so much and I am never going to forget it. We all have made so many memories, everything will be missed.”
Academically, Sugandha will be pursuing her SSC Boards this year, she expressed, “Studies are equally important and I will have to manage music and academics equally. Since it’s my boards this year I will focus on it and side by side keep practising music too. I am excited to return to school; all my friends, teachers and principal are happy and waiting for me to get back.”
She shared her favourite judge as well as revealed who she will miss the most, “All judges were my favourite but I like Richa ma’am the most. And amongst all I will miss Swaransh the most, we share a sibling bond and I will always be in touch with him.”
Date had reached the top 5 of Indian Idol Junior and now she is the winner of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, she said, “I was in top 5 back then and when I started with this show, I had in mind that I have to go beyond top 5 and today after winning this trophy, it’s a dream come true.”
Sugandha wants to make her career in light music and aims to sing for Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra Jonas in future. She is getting classically trained too and wants to behold this trophy forever. She has aspirations to do something big in the music industry and determination to make her family and friends proud.
