Will Sara and Kartik’s break up affect Aaj Kal? Dinesh Vijan reacts

Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan’s love story ended quite soon and the reports of their breakup created a storm on the Internet. The duo has mutually decided to part ways, in order to focus on their professional life and career. 

Sara and Kartik’s romance grew while shooting for Imtiaz Ali’s Aaj Kal, but it looks like the duo is finding it difficult to spend time with each other, now that the film has wrapped up and the actors have moved on with their upcoming projects.

Earlier, we reported that despite their personal relationship front, the actors are maintaining a cordial rapport with each other and there is no tinge of awkwardness between the two as they were spotted together at Karan Johar’s Diwali puja at Dharma office.

And now, Dinesh Vijan, producer of their upcoming film Aaj Kal, has opened up about the film and whether Kartik and Sara's breakup will have any effect on it.

Talking to Mumbai Mirror, he says that he was not even aware of their relationship, and says that the audience loves them. With Imtiaz Ali helming the film, he claims that the film will stand strong and satisfy the audience.

"I didn’t even know Sara and Kartik were dating. They are both strong actors who have the love of the audience, and with Imtiaz Ali, the master of heartbreaks, telling us how love has changed in the last decade, I am confident this film will be a much-awaited 2020 Valentine Day release,” Dinesh Vijan said.

He also spoke about his rapport with Sara, and how he knows her since she was a little girl. "I have not had the time to speak to Sara and Kartik about anything in the world. They’re busy, and so am I. But they’re very special to me. I remember when Saif (Ali Khan) and I had started Illuminati Films and were launching Love Aaj Kal, Sara was in the office for the puja. I have known her since she was a little girl. Life has indeed come a full circle and she is a part of the Love Aaj Kal’s sequel as its leading lady.”

Talking about Kartik, he said, “Kartik did Luka Chuppi with us and he’s someone I value a lot. Ditto, Imtiaz Ali, who I am teaming up with after a very long gap. So, for me, this film is above controversies and unnecessary attention.”

Well, only time will tell what the aftermath of this split will look like and whether the duo will rekindle their relationship or bounce back to being friends. Their film, Aaj Kal, releases on 14 February 2020.
