"Why should anyone else see anything average": Parineeti Chopra reveals about film with Ranbir Kapoor

Parineeti Chopra is currently on cloud nine basking in the success of her recently released series of films, Saina (Biopic based on the Indian Badminton player, Saina Nehwal), Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar wherein she was seen with Arjun Kapoor and The Girl on the train which is a Hindi remake of the hit Hollywood film starring Emily Blunt and is also the adaptation of British author Paula Hawkins' 2015 novel of the same name.

Talking about how the pandemic has changed film-making and upped the content game, the versatile actress has opened up and revealed that all her upcoming projects are going to be exceptional and out of the box.

Excerpts from her conversation:

Parineeti feels the pandemic has changed the content landscape forever in India. She is of the opinion that audiences would only want to see extremely fresh subjects and discard anything that’s not unique. Says Pari, 

“Today is the age of content and anything that’s sub-par won’t be accepted by audiences who have access to clutter-breaking content emerging from across the world. We actors and film-makers have to keep this in mind."

She further adds,

“I have gravitated towards projects that have strong content because I realized that everyone around me, including me, was only watching films or shows that are landmark. So, why should anyone else see anything average.”

Pari feels this should be the biggest learning for the Hindi film industry. She reveals she is only choosing scripts that are extremely strong including the likes of Animal, in which she stars opposite Ranbir Kapoor. 

She says,

“I think that’s the realization the industry will need to take away from this pandemic. The landscape has changed forever and we will have to offer breath-taking cinema. The pandemic has changed taste of audiences and we have to respect what they are seeking.”

On a concluding note, she Pari reveals,

"All my future projects including Animal are strong subjects that are unique and fresh for audiences to see and love. I will be only looking out for scripts that only offer something new for people to enjoy.”
