While Kartik Lauds Deepika’s JNU Visit, Rangoli calls her ‘Biggest PR Queen’

 Just a few days before her film Chhapaak’s release, Deepika took a bold step by visiting the JNU campus and stood by the students in solidarity. This was indeed a huge step by the actress as this would invite a number of consequences, and in fact #BoycottChhapaak has already been trending on Twitter.

Deepika’s act has the Internet divided in opinion, and while many from the B Town industry like Anurag Kashyap, Swara Bhasker, Dia Mirza, Kartik Aaryan among others praise her, many on the Internet criticized her calling it an act of promotion for her upcoming film.

Praising Deepika’s JNU visit, Kartik told Bollywood Hungama, “Of course, I respect what Deepika did yesterday and I hope a lot of people would stand up and a lot of citizens should come ahead and talk about it. Strict actions are needed. The way these things are happening, this is not our country, these things should not happen here. I really hope strict actions are taken.” 

“I saw the video and the way they entered the campus or the video in which... (refers to the video of Aishe Ghosh bleeding) again, it makes you...I just think this is a really bad atmosphere right now and it is necessary to take action” he added.

Meanwhile, on the other hand, Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel stated on Twitter that her sister believes that Deepika can be a mediocre actor but the biggest PR queen, and called her JNU visit a PR stunt.

Rangoli replied to a tweet by a man slamming Deepika for her recent act and asked people to not invest their time and money in watching her film, Chhapaak. While she asked the man to apologize to Deepika, she also called her a mediocre actor and the biggest PR Queen.

“This is the worse thing a man can do to target a woman when she stands for what she believes in, my sister believes Deepika can be a mediocre actor, she can be biggest PR queen she can even be indifferent to the nation and it’s people....(contd)” read her tweet.

One of her tweets also read, "Main abhi bhi nahin manti ki usko JNU ke students mein thoda bhi interest hai, yeh sirf paise mein intrest rakhte hain.”

What’s surprising is that Rangoli’s twitter brawl comes just a few hours after her sister Kangana Ranaut praised Deepika Padukone and her team for making Chhapaak. In an emotional video, the Panga actress stated that Meghna Gulzar’s film reminded her of her sister Rangoli’s acid attack and highly lauded the team for making this film.
