From Lata Mangeshkar to Yo Yo Honey Singh, Bollywood has time and again proven that music is an essential part of a movie. While countries in the West put on their party hats and welcome the summer, India will be seen encountering the baarish ka mausam soon. With that in mind, we at BollyCurry give you some food for thought on what type of songs you prefer; are you someone who sits and dreams "Kabhi Jo Badal Barse" or the one who beats the heat with "Aaj Blue Hai Paani Aur Din Bhi Sunny"? Read on to find out what you fancy.

The all - time chartbuster rain song "Bheegi Bheegi Raaton Mein" is composed by the legendary R. D. Burman in the movie Ajnabi (1974). The song features Rajesh Khanna and Zeenat Aman in their most romantic avatars, which have surfaced owing to the heavy rains. A beautiful love-making mood as the thunder storms and the heroine quickly runs into the hero's arms. Yes, such was (or still is) Bollywood romance for you!

Twenty years later, the year 1994 gave us a higher standard of rain passion in the form of "Tip Tip Barse Paani", undoubtedly one of the hottest rain song ever. From the movie Mohra, the song features Raveena Tandon is seen in a gorgeous yellow saree trying to seduce Akshay Kumar in every step possible. As the drops of rain fall on her face and her body, the aroma becomes sultrier.

Adding a final 20 years, the year 2014 brought to us "Kabhi Jo Badal Barse", a song that was on the playlist of every teenager and adult, a Jackpot song that not only introduced us to Sunny Leone, but also gave us the musical heartthrob, Arijit Singh. This track also features Sachin Joshi in a passionate love-making mood around the forest.

If you haven't yet, you must tune into the above mentioned songs and if you later find yourself day-dreaming listening to these songs, then beware, you are one of those who are fans of the lovey-dovey cum romantic happenings!

Narrowing down to the summer-y parties, they were not so common in Bollywood during the golden era. Beach parties back in the day... were picnics. The 1982 rom-com, Satte Pe Satta song, "Mausam Mastana" was shot by the beach in Goa, wherein a group of girls are seen wearing comfortable flower-y outfits and hats as they play games at the beach.

"Gazab Ka Hai Din" from Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988) showcases Juhi Chawla and her friends enjoying their picnic through cycling and simply enjoying the sun at a hill station. "Kaho Na Pyaar Hai" from Hrithik Roshan's debut movie sharing the same title (2000), is also shot at a beach in Goa. The song is not a party move at all, it's pure romance. The former songs are about picnics, yet they somewhat relate to romance, since beach parties were not a thing, yet.

Then came the late 2000s where trendsetters walked in. Shilpa Shetty's "Shut Up and Bounce" from Dostana (2008), created waves in India and youngsters knew the kind of songs they needed to enjoy their days out at the beaches. Cocktail's "Tumhi Ho Bandhu" (2012) gave the official nod that bhartyanaris are also allowed to party because this is the summer! And finally, "Party On My Mind" in Race 2 (2013) took everyone on the dance floor and kept the idea of partying hooked on their mind.

We're positive that you already have these songs on your playlist. But if you don't, what are you waiting for? Summers are not only about partying on anthems such as "Aankhon Aankhon" from Bhaag Johnny, they could also mean relaxing on the hammock and listening to the recreated version of "Dheere Dheere Se" by Yo Yo Honey Singh.

If you are in the list of those that could party all day listening to Bollywood's very own party anthems, then we're sure to spot you somewhere at a beach in Goa, Miami or Ibiza this summer!

Over to you, what type of a listener are you? You could be the monsoon lover or the beach fanatic, or you could be both depending on your mood! It's never bad to desire the best of both worlds after all, eh?
