*Disclaimer: The following content is a light reflection and an attempt of simulation that leaves out any scope for critique.

I am back to put my shoddy photoshop skills and average writing  skills at work to produce yet another instance of WhatIf. If Game Of Thrones and Breaking Bad are amongst the best shows ever, House Of Cards atleast qualifies to come in the Top 10. The show was one of the driving forces in making Netflix the streaming giant that it is today. The controversy surrounding Kevin Spacey only continues to increase with every passing day, but we certainly cannot wait for the final season of House Of Cards., which has Robin Wright take over the mantle completely.

So, before that, it is probably as fitting as it can get where we take House Of Cards into account on What If House Of Cards was remade in India. With the rage and state of politics in India being the talk of the town and some excellent writing, there actually can be a decent political drama if we aim to have one.

Once again, hypothetically, here's what will happen if House Of Cards was remade in India with Indian actors-

Rubina Dilaik from Shakti... Astitva Ke Ehsaas Kii as Zoe Barnes (Kate Mara)

Beautiful, fierce and unapologetic. That is what Zoe Barnes comprised of (*Spoiler Alert - She is dead since Season 2). And as soon as we think of the above mentioned traits, I could not think of someone better than Rubina Dilaik playing Zoe. The fine acting chops and the needed looks would have Rubina ace the character, and who knows, in an Indian setting, we see a lot more of Zoe.
Nia Sharma as Rachel Posner (Rachel Brosnahan)

As a viewer, I couldn't have been more glad to see Nia Sharma break out of her TV bahu image and get going with Twisted and Twisted 2. It isn't just the kissing scenes and boldness that should be highlighted, but Nia has some fine acting talent and that was seen the best in the web show. Owing to that, I can totally imagine Nia playing Rachel Posner. There are several complexities to Rachel and Nia can ace them all.
Shaheer Sheikh from Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi as Will Conway (Joel Kinnaman)

The character of Will Conway may have only lasted for 2 seasons, but boy it was as impactful as it can get. The character was however elevated owing to Joel Kinnaman's amazing screen presence and hitting voice. It was important to have a 'good-looking, 'well-built' and 'young' politician against Frank Underwood in the 4th and 5th season. And that is what Shaheer Sheikh is all about. Handsome, tall, well-built and some fine acting execution, Shaheer would be fantastic as Will.

Manish Chaudhary from Yeh Pyaar Nahi Toh Kya Hai as Doug Stamper (Michael Kelly)

I have to admit, I had the hardest time casting and thinking an apt name for the role of Doug Stamper, even more than Frank. And the simple reason for the same is that this character is just so much more important and complex than Frank. Then, I immediately thought of Manish Chaudhari and the fabulous actor that he is. He may be playing a South Indian KK Reddy in Yeh Pyaar Nahi Toh Kya Hai currently, but if you really want to see his acting finest, you can watch the film Rocket Singh or Sony TV's limited series, Powder. Manish would add his own touch to Doug Stamper and we can see him nailing this one with ease.

Barun Sobti from Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon franchise as Edward Meechum (Nathan Darrow)

For some, this may an unimportant character, but the true viewers of House Of Cards would know why Edward Meechum, the guard to Frank is as important as any character can get. There is a certain subtlety to Edward, and I envision Barun pulling that off well. Apart from his Iss Pyaar.. stint, we have seen Barun's true acting talent in a film like Tu Hai Mera Sunday. So, when his acting is truly utilized, he can be great.
Boman Irani as Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey)

There can be many names being considered here and there, but thanks to one of the promos for House Of Cards' promotion in India, I cannot see anyone but Boman Irani playing the ruthless, heartless and genius politician, Frank Underwood in the Indian version of House Of Cards. His personality, already-known acting chops and baritone voice would bring life to the character of Frank with full conviction. Also, we don't have to worry about the leading man being the subject of accusation of sexual assault, so Boman can bring so much more to the role which the original House Of Cards won't be able to. Plus, we cannot see a better television debut for Boman Irani.

Achint Kaur as Claire Underwood (Robin Wright)

And finally, Claire Underwood! The new leader of House Of Cards' final season and as deserving as it can be. Robin's tall frame, constant poise, brilliant acting makes the character of Claire Underwood always likeable no matter what foul things she does. And guess which Indian actress has all three of the above? Achint Kaur. I almost feel that a character like Claire would be tailor-made for Achint and the explosive casting of Boman and Achint would be enough to send shivers down your spine, as you see them as the deadly political duo, Frank and Claire - The Underwoods.

So, there you are. With House Of Cards Season 6 approaching soon, we feel this may have some heads being scratched as to if this is actually possible. From where we see it, we totally think it is.
