Wedding Chills With Mr. DJ!

A film is incomplete without at least one wedding sequence peppered with glitzy lights, songs and spectacular dance moves and grooves, that can pontentially make you fall in love with each moment, and every ceremony of the wedding.

Bollywood has been known for capturing every festive in a grand style, and weddings are no exception. A film is incomplete without at least one wedding sequence peppered with glitzy lights, songs and spectacular dance moves and grooves, that can potentially make you fall in love with each moment, and every ceremony of the wedding. Here's BollyCurry giving you a sneak peak of the songs that left a mark in the manner that they were portrayed; be it the music, dance, catchy lyrics, or the overall backdrop emotional feel.

Dulhe Ka Sehra - Dhadkan

This Nadeem-Shravan composition is sung by the qawwali maestro, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. The song perfectly describes the feeling experienced by a bride on her wedding day, as she tries to grasp all the memories with her family and bid them farewell only to cherish those moments at a later stage. A line very touching from the song goes: 'Palbhar mein kaise badalte hai rishte, ab to har apna begana lagta hai...' Yes, the immensely touchy lyrics, and the wedding background feel is what makes the song unforgettable.

Taare Hai Baarati - Virasat

One of the most emotional moments shared by a bride and groom are complied in this tender song. It's all about discovering love from the movie Virasat, and this song is crooned in the vocals Jaspinder Narula and Kumar Sanu.  The USP of the song is its simplicity and the perfect lyrics by legendary Javed Akhtar. This Anu Malik composition has its own charm and includes the most important scales of a complete Indian wedding including shyness, various rituals, and most importantly love among everyone.

Aaye Ho Meri Zindagi Mein - Raja Hindustani

Sameer's lyrics gel extremely well with the splendid vocals of Alka Yagnik. Its ghazal-styled beats are laced with a shaadi interlude which compliments the colorful middle class wedding shown in the Aamir Khan & Karisma Kapoor starrer, Raja Hindustani. 'Mere dil mein yoon hi rehna, tum pyaar pyaar banke, aaye ho meri zindagi mein tum bahaar banke'. The song depicts the wishes of a girl who is getting married, to her groom who has always given her happiness, and hopes for the same in the future too.

Hamesha Tumko Chaha - Devdas

This heart wrenching track has used high voltage wedding drama to portray the feelings of the protagonists in the Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya starrer, Devdas to the fullest. The lyrics, penned by Nusrat Badr are very deep and scream about losing your most priceless possession, your childhood love, someone without whom life cannot even be imagined. The magic is created by singers, Kavita Krishnamurthy and Udit Narayan. Together, they have done full justice to the song, and in a beautiful manner that suits the mood of lovers who were once bound to get married, and are now parting ways.

Sajda - My Name is Khan

A list like this would never be complete without the mention of the legendary couple SRK-Kajol. "Sajda" is much more than just another sufi composition. The melodious voices of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan & Richa Sharma give the charismatic effects which sets up the tone for marriage. The song begins with an on-going mehendi ceremony where the bride is applying henna on her hands and the family enjoying themselves by dancing and eating classic Indian mithai. It is then followed by the wedding sequence and the couple moving into their new home. A very decent portrayal of a small gathering, yet an event that is made memorable. The song is composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, and is one such song among millions that is loved by all.

These euphoric songs from various brilliant movies of Bollywood are suitable to fit every situation in a wedding, from the mehendi, to sangeet, and bidaai as well. They not only make us evocative about the most auspicious day in our lives but also makes the wedding a memorable event to be cherished for years. Other such joyous songs include "Joote do Paise lo" from desi megahit Hum Aapke Ke Hain Kaun, "Chote Chote Bhaiyoon Ke" from the family-oriented Hum Saath-Saath Hain, and"Mehendi Hai Rachnewali"from Zubeida.

With this heavy dose, we at BollyCurry hope you enjoyed this innovative idea, and also await your feedback on which wedding songs you enjoy and what kind of reviews you would like to hear from us. Adios Amigos!
