Besides, the Chennai Police have also retrieved some audio files from the actress’ phone that were reportedly deleted by her husband Hemanth. The files consist of crucial evidence and voice messages of the actress complaining about Hemanth’s abusive behaviour to her father-in-law.

A report in Thanthi TV states that Hemant often yelled at Chitra on the sets of the TV series Pandiyan Stores. In the audio retrieved by the officials, Chitra has reportedly requested her father-in-law to intervene in the issue and help her.

Earlier, Chitra's mother had accused Hemanth of harassing her daughter and beating her to death. However, RDO officers have rubbished the dowry harassment theory due to lack of evidence.
