Multiple celebrities and other public figures have come forward to extend their help in any way possible during these though times of lockdown owing to coronavirus pandemic.

From financial to mental, any kind of support extended to thr families who are in dire need of it is indeed a great thing, isn't it?

On that note, actor Vivek Oberoi, who is usually known for his humanitarian ventures has once again come forward to do something really noble. In an interview with SpotboyE, Oberoi opened up on the details of his initiative called SAATH as he said, “We have started a program about 2 weeks ago called SAATH; its full form is ‘Support Aid And Assist Helpless’. So, we observed that many of these migrant labourers have been stranded here since a while now. Nearly 14 days back, I found out that right next to my bungalow, there's a building in which migrant labourers with families and kids didn't have anything to eat. There was no food for them.

So, I made food in my house and sent it to 12 families. And then I realised that there are so many families like these. That’s how we started a program wherein we began taking note of registered migrant workers. Then we got in touch with all the Uber autowallahs and verified their bank accounts, post which we directly started sending Rs 100-200 to their accounts and in this way till now, we have supported more than 5000 families. We are launching the initiative on social media for people to directly and instantly create an impact. I'm only making it public now.”

We certainly hope the neediest get the deserved help at the soonest.
