A team of UP Police from Moradabad visited Sonakshi Sinha’s Juhu house in Mumbai on Thursday in relation to a cheating case filed against her. Earlier this year, the actress was accused of cheating an event organizer.
The Moradabad based organizer registered a case and accused Sonakshi Sinha of fraud. The organizer also claimed that the 32-year-old actress did not show up for the event in Delhi at the eleventh hour even after accepting a booking amount of Rs 24 lakh.
In the development of the matter, UP Police was assisted by officials from Mumbai's Juhu police station as the team visited Sinha’s house in Juhu. However, the Dabangg actress was not present at her home when the police arrived. Therefore, they left after waiting for a few hours. The police are likely to visit the actress's home again on Friday to take her statement regarding the cheating case filed against her.
Reacting to the same, Sonakshi took to her Twitter handle to release her statement over the same and called the organizer someone who did not live up to his commitment. Read the full statement below -
As per reports, Talent Full On Company was roped in for the event and the full amount was deposited in the actress's account. However, at the last moment, the actress did not appear at the event, causing loss to the event company.
Sonakshi’s spokesperson spoke to Mumbai Mirror refusing the allegations against the actress and said, "In her nine years long career, she has only worked with complete honesty and sincerity. What this man is accusing her of is completely untrue and baseless. This is just a way of extortion by maligning her spot free reputation in the press and it is not something that Sonakshi and her team will succumb to. She is a thorough professional and we have been more than cooperative with whichever authorities that have gotten in touch with us because we have nothing to hide."
On the work front, Sonakshi Sinha is playing the role of a sexologist in her upcoming film Khandaani Shafakhana. The film is slated to release on August 2, alongside Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra's Jabariya Jodi. She will also be seen in Akshay Kumar's Mission Mangal and the actress is also working on Dabangg 3 with Salman Khan, which is set for December 2019 release.
