TV and bold scenes don't go together, says Pooja Sharma

It's not right to showcase bold scenes in family-based TV dramas, says actress Pooja Sharma, who recently shot a sensual number for her show "Ruk Jaana Nahin".

It's not right to showcase bold scenes in family-based TV dramas, says actress Pooja Sharma, who recently shot a sensual number for her show "Ruk Jaana Nahin".

Pooja, who plays Sanchi in the Star Plus serial, danced to "Raat akeli hai", but says there was nothing bold in the picturisation.

"I danced on the song 'Raat Akeli Hai' for the show. It was a sweet romantic number and was not at all bold in any way," Pooja told IANS.

However, the actress believes some shows have dared to go too bold in recent times.

Citing the example of the steamy scene between actors Sakshi Tanwar and Ram Kapoor in "Bade Acche Laggte Hai", she said: "It was very bold and probably for the first time in television, but viewers didn't really accept it. They watch the shows with their families.

"I also spoke to some families who were disturbed over it. They said that they watch these shows with their children and its not appropriate to see all this. It should not be this bold."

Pooja's look for the song sequence in show was subtle as she donned a sari for it. She says it was tough to manage the six-yard wonder.

"I know I look really good in saris, but I prefer salwar-kameez. I don't have the patience to wear a sari. It's next to impossible to wear it. While shooting the song, I had to wear it for 12 hours. It was very difficult," she said.

Despite having said that, she also believes that saris work best in the television format, especially for those who play daughters-in-law.

"In a TV serial, I think saris work more. I wore a sari for the song and everyone liked it. I think the mindset is still there that bahus (daughters-in-law) should wear saris. There are very few shows where the bahus wear something else," she added.

Pooja was working as a human resource manager in a company before she was discovered by a model co-ordinator. She left her job as soon as she landed herself a role.

she has a point abt bold scenes being awkward 2 c if u watching the shw with ur family n tht, bt i dont agree with her pinpointing a drama thts done this, simply becos it wil hurt loyal fans of tht shw... and its nt professional either

she sounds like a kid who has done something and is afraid of being reprimanded is seeking refuge in saying i did it but they did it more and what they did wasnt even liked!! just to ward off any heat of her!! that is so insecure!! she could have omited any names. is she a surveyor went around talking abt other ppl opions? and why the hell couldnt just keep to what ppl said abt her- if anyone said anytihng at all that is!!she could have siad i was a lil aprehensive but m glad went down well without comparing!!!!! and one more thing if it wasnt abt balh there would be only a handful of comments so i can get why the name was taken for sure!! silly attention seeker!!

I'm not supporting what PS said, but why bring RJN and its TRPs into play here. This was PS' personal comment about 1 bold scene - not about the serial and definitely not about Sakshi/Ram. Similarly why bring the entire RJN into play for PS' personal comments... RJN has a time slot of 6:30 the worst slot to have! Not saying BALH is not good...what I mean is RJN has good enough TRPs for its slot (its the 6:30 pm slot leader, at least according to the last news i read) Despite scrapping other shows, SP still retained RJN...kyunki 6:30 rarely gets anything beyond 1 in any channel - generally most shows only show re-runs at that time as it doesn't suit any audience! Besides, I don't think PS meant anything about RJN being better than BALH or vice versa...she just talked about 1 bold scene...why take it so personally :) so chill and smile guys :D...
