Trisha Krishnan turns emotional during Thalapathy Vijay’s first speech as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister

Actor Trisha Krishnan became one of the most discussed faces at Vijay’s swearing in ceremony as the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on May 10. A video from the event showing the actor appearing emotional during Vijay’s first public speech has now gone viral across social media platforms.

The ceremony took place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai and was attended by political leaders, film personalities and members of Vijay’s family. Trisha arrived at the venue wearing a blue saree and was accompanied by her mother Uma Krishnan.

Before entering the venue, the actor briefly interacted with media persons stationed outside the stadium. When a reporter referred to the occasion as a “big day for Tamil Nadu,” Trisha smiled and replied, “Yes. Thank you, thank you. Looking forward,” before heading inside.

Soon after, fan pages began circulating clips from inside the ceremony. In one of the widely shared videos, Trisha was seen listening carefully to Vijay’s speech while appearing visibly emotional. The actor continued smiling as Vijay addressed the gathering after officially taking oath as Chief Minister.

During his speech, Vijay thanked the people of Tamil Nadu and spoke about beginning a new phase in governance. “Come, let all of us together give Tamil Nadu a fresh new government. This is a new beginning, the start of a new era of secular, social justice,” he said.

He further added, “I am not some divine messenger or prophet. I am just an ordinary human being living a normal life. I will never deceive you with false promises. I will only promise what is possible.”

The viral moment involving Trisha quickly triggered reactions online, especially amid continuing speculation surrounding her equation with Vijay. The two actors have worked together in films including Ghilli, Thirupaachi, Leo and The Greatest of All Time, where Trisha appeared in the song Matta.
