Actress Tina Dutta is best known for her role in Colors’ popular show Uttaran, which bagged her many awards and nominations. The actress was last seen in And TV’s supernatural show Daayan. She is often seen voicing her opinions and talking about the unjust, be it coming out of an abusive relationship or harassment at the workplace. Now, the actress is once again making headlines after speaking about the pay system in the Television industry.

In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Tina revealed that a TV Producer refused to pay her rupees 30 lakhs after the show went off-air claiming the show suffered huge losses. However, the actress who didn’t name the producer stated that the show never ran in a loss as they had backing from the sponsors and advertisers.

“I don’t wish to name the producer, but he actually refused to pay me Rs 30 lakh after the show went off the air. He apparently claimed that he ran the show in a huge loss, which is practically not possible because they had financial backing from the sponsors and advertisers,” she said.

Tina also filed a complaint against the Producer at the Cine & TV Artists Association (CINTAA). “The producers kept me in the lurch for the next three years. Since I had a very good relationship with them, they paid me, but in small instalments. I had lodged a complaint with CINTAA and they have been helpful. I believe in karma and it bites you back really hard,” she further added.
