The Sinner, one of the most popular and loved shows at USA network has now officially been renewed for a fourth season. The NBCUniversal-owned cable network has also added a pair of unscripted shows, Instant Family and The Rev, to its lineup.

Bill Pullman will reprise his role as Detective Harry Ambrose in The Sinner, taking on a new "whydunit" case in the fourth season. Derek Simonds is also set to return as showrunner alongside fellow executive producers Jessica Biel (who starred in the first season), Michelle Purple and Charlie Gogolak.

Its renewal comes after USA has thinned its scripted ranks with the recent cancellations of Dare Me, Treadstone and The Purge.

"The Sinner has struck a chord with audiences with its signature 'whydunit’'style,” said Chris McCumber, president of USA Network and Syfy. “In season four, we’re excited to dig even deeper into the psyche of Bill Pullman’s beloved Detective Ambrose character, while introducing our audience to a compelling, completely new mystery."

The Sinner, from Universal Content Productions, is part of a scripted lineup on USA that also includes the currently airing Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story, Queen of the South (which has been renewed for a fifth season) and Briarpatch, which is awaiting word on its future. The cabler has also ordered a limited series about daredevil Evel Knievel that's set to star Milo Ventimiglia.

As for the two unscripted pickups, Instant Family (a working title, and no relation to the 2018 movie of the same name) is a half-hour show centered on married couple Nicole and John Walters, who a few years into their marriage opened their home and hearts to three sisters who had been living on the streets. Nicole's best friend, Eddie, serves as their manny and helps them navigate the new world of parenting. It comes from Line by Line Media, with Justin Tucker, Sam Sarkoob and Bob Unger executive producing.
