Namit Malhotra responds to India vs US launch debate

In Mumbai on Thursday, Namit and director Nitesh unveiled the film's teaser, giving audiences their first look at Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama. Following the unveiling, Namit discussed the film, explaining the decision to premiere Ramayana's teaser in Los Angeles and New York before its India launch, as reported by India Today.

Regarding the overseas teaser launch, here's what was discussed, Namit said, “Don’t divide. This is not the time to be divisive. The Indian in the America are thanking and appreciating (us for having an event in the US), you need to understand the emotion of the Indian people over there."

Namit on film’s global vision

Last week, Ranbir, director Nitesh Tiwari, and producer Namit Malhotra attended events for their upcoming film Ramayana in Los Angeles and New York.

Namit emphasized the film's global vision, stating, "There are Indians all over the world. We should not be divisive; that’s where we go wrong on Ramayana. There’s no division, it’s one world, one Ramayana and one Rama. The idea is to show it to the entire world. How do we bring awareness? Every Indian knows it (about Ramayana)."

Namit also expressed his wish for everyone to be familiar with Ramayana, explaining that it's challenging to pause filming to meet people and raise awareness, especially since they aren't selling tickets. He further mentioned his goal of presenting Ramayana to a global audience.

Nitesh responded to the question of why India didn't host the initial major event, stating, "I’ll pass on the message (to the producer)."
