The body language and accent are the most challenging part of my character: Mohit Sehgal

Television's hearthrob Mohit Sehgal who was on a sabbatical after his stint in Qubool Hai came to an end, is back with a new show. Mohit will be seen in a different character on Rashmi Sharma's new show Sarojini on Zee TV.

TellyBuzz spoke to Mohit to know more about his new show, his character and much more...

Tell us something about your character on the show?

I am playing the character of Somendra on the show. The show is based on the backdrop of Pratapgarh in UP.  Somendra belongs to a Dabang family. His father doesn't believe in education but he wants Somendra to be educated so that his son can progress in life and his status will be high in the society. Somendra is a fearless guy and he doesn't believe in education. He is a fun loving brat and he always keeps himself involved in impressing girls in his college.

Your character seems to be quite different from all the characters you have played earlier...

It is very different in terms of his body language, his dressing sense and his accent. He has to carry the accent of UP and his body language and everything is very different.

So how you have prepared yourself to play this role?

The script has been written amazingly well which is really helping me. Many of the people around my sets are from UP so I am taking help from them for the body language and accent. They can help me out better because they hail from there. I read my scripts and prepare myself accordingly in terms of body language and accent whenever I am at home.

What did you like the most about the show and your character?

The body language and the accent are the most challenging part of my character and I like it. What I like the most about the show is that we are spreading awareness that every woman should get educated and there should not be any differentiation between men and women. We are trying to spread awareness about it and I am happy being a part of this show.

How is it working with the team?

It's great working with the team. Our producer Rashmi Sharma is one of the best producers of television and her shows are doing amazingly well. It's a good feeling to work with Zee TV again and also with the co-stars Ketki Kadam and Nitin Goswami from my previous show Qubool Hai. It's a good feeling that everybody has come together again.

How has been the response so far?

People are really appreciating and have liked the promos. They can see that this time it's something very different from my previous shows. I can read all the comments which states how excited they are! I hope people will watch the show appreciate our efforts.

Do you find the time slot challenging?

It is challenging and we should accept the challenge; that's the fun of life. It's not a very big deal! We should concentrate more on the concept of the show and the people here are good to work with so I don't have to worry much about the time slot. The show has been written really well and I hope that it will work. I think the prime time has been changed which is from 6 to 11 now because even shows on the time slots of 7 pm and 6:30 pm have done really well.

What you have been busy doing after your show on Sony TV got scrapped?

I didn't get much time to do anything after that. I was waiting for the right project to come on my way and I think this was something that I have been waiting for! Now I am busy again.

This time Sanaya is grooving on the stage of Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 8. Are you following the show for her?

Yes, I am following Jhalak and she is doing an amazing job there. A lot more to come and to learn for her! She always wanted to dance and I think she has grown as a dancer. She wanted to enjoy the journey as a dancer and she is enjoying it there.

When is it going to be Nach Baliye for both of you?

We haven't thought about it yet as both of us have been working and concentrating on our respective shows. We will see as it comes in our way.

How has been Sanaya's response for your new project?

I keep on telling her about the script of my shows and working with the team on my sets. She is really excited about the show.

Keep loving us the way you all have been throughout and I hope I will keep you all entertained always.
