Telly Actors and their love for Navratri!

Telly actors share why they love the festival of Navratri!

Navratri is all about fun, frolic, love and laughter. The happy vibes that this nine-night dance galore festival can get is truly unmatched. Hogging over the delicacies or getting into the typical and ethnic attires for the Garba nights, this festival has always been special for everyone, for sure! While people all around have already gotten into the mood of Navratri, we at TellyBuzz got in touch with a few actors from our tinsel town sharing their memories about the festival and what Navratri means to them. Read on-

Navratri is very special in Gujarat; not only for religious reasons but also for entertainment and celebration. I have very special memories of Navratri. I was the only girl in a group of 30 Sindhi boys who still are my well-wishers dearly. We have named the group as the Sparkle Group. We have always been winners at all the Garba nights. It was such a thing back then.

What I see with my busy life is the newer generation is equally enthusiastic and attached to the celebrations. To all my fans, I would just like to tell them do not forget to wear those awesome eyelashes by Renee by Aashka Goradia this Navratri!

My memories of Navratri include getting ready for Garba, dancing throughout those 4 hours shouting and hooting all along! Eating Papdi No Lot during the interval was something I truly relished. Navratri was being super happy for those 9 days.

Navratri to me means dancing on the tunes of Garba and celebrating the festival with my friends. I would like to wish everyone a very Happy Navratri and would like to tell everyone that try grabbing happiness for yourself during such times of frolic in these busy times.

Being a Gujarati, I have way too many memories of Navratri. The most exciting Navratri memory for me will always be of the school. Every school back then used to organize a Garba night; so prepping up for that single Garba night was like a task. Right from the outfit to your look, everything had to be perfect because that was the only day we used to get to play Garba with our school friends and teachers. I used to make sure that I atleast go out for Garba for five-six days. Besides this, there is a tradition of making Malla Maata out of mud during Navratri; so as kids making the Malla Maata, deciding on the theme and color, doing the Aarti every morning and evening is also one of the fondest memories I have of this festival.

In Ahmedebad, there is a huge market where we get stuffs related to Navratri only. The actual preparation of buying the jewelries and Chaniya Choli began before Navratri. Navratri is all about the good winning over the evil. As kids, we have read and heard so many stories related to Navratri and why we celebrate this festival.
I personally feel, doing Garba for those nine days is equivalent to doing Cardio, haha! We are so much into the festive fun and enjoyment, having a friends and family around; I think that is the beauty of Navratri. To everyone celebrating Navratri, I would just like to say have fun, eat good food, play Garba till you drop and a very Happy Navratri!

The only memory I have of Navratri as a kid is that my mom forcefully used to dress me up in the Navratri attires and I used to hate it and how. I used to start crying, haha! But now that I am all grown up, I have found some crazy love for ethnic wears, not the heavy ones though! Whenever I attend the Garba Nights, I prefer wearing simple ethnic attires.

Navratri to me is all about food! My mom used to cook delicious Faradi (delicacies prepared during fasts) food for those nine days. I love the happy vibes in the atmosphere. The lights and laughter soothe my soul. Simply love the festive feel of Navratri. To all the readers, may Navratri fill up your life with fun, laughter, joy and blessings for your brightest future! Happy Navratri to everyone!

Before I was an actor, I used to ensure that I played Garba for all nine days. But once I started shooting for my shows, it was not really possible to play Garba every day. When I am shooting, I request my Producers, Directors and Production team to leave me early so that I can play Garba at least for some time; even if that means playing for just half an hour. I just cannot leave the chance of playing Garba.

During Navratri, we have a Havan done on all nine days at our home. So, preparing for the Havan, different outfits for each day, variety of delicacies, everything about this festival is just so amazing. As a kid remember playing Garba and winning number of awards and prizes. It used to be crazy!

Have a crazy Navratri everyone! Give all your positive energy out in the world and the universe will give you back all that you deserve.

We at India-Forums wish all our readers a very Happy Navratri!
