Tanuj Virwani is best known for his role of Vayu Raghavan in the 2017 Amazon original television series Inside Edge. He has also played integral roles in Alt Balaji’s Code M opposite Jeniffer Winget and ZEE5 show Poison. The actor was last seen in Murder Meri Jaan, where he plays the role of ACP Aditya, a fun thriller.
Talking about the same, the actor tells us, ''It was a lot of fun because it is a tragedy for the character but comedy for the audience. I really enjoyed it because this was different from most of the stuff that I have played on the web as they have been dark and intense and gritty, so this will bring a smile to people's faces and I think that is the need of the hour.''
The OTT space has been growing by leaps and bounds and there continues to be a constant inflow of content, often, too much to keep up with. Talking about the boom in the same, Tanuj feels that it is true and he is equally glad to be a part of the space since the beginning in the country. He said, ''It has been truly phenomenal and unprecedented over the last couple of years. I remember when I was shooting for the first season of Inside Edge in 2016, OTT was still in infancy and no one knew the power and reach it would have not just in India but all over the world which we have seen how streaming platforms have become popular with the quality and quantity of content going higher. I am just really happy to be a part of this massive OTT family right now. We always want to join something on the ground floor and you don't want to directly go to a building that is ready and I am glad to be a part of this journey from the ground floor. The unfortunate situation with the pandemic has acted as a catalyst for the OTT platform because we don't know when the normal theatre-going experience will return in full capacity, and in the meanwhile, we will see a lot of entertainment landscape shifting to the webspace.''
He also agrees that it is difficult to work as well as find work but he is grateful to have projects in the pipeline, and he is excited to have the audiences see them. He says, ''I consider myself blessed and fortunate to have various projects in the pipeline which are in different stages of post-production right now because it is difficult to find meaningful work and also work in safe circumstances. I just had a release recently, we have an MX Player collaboration Tandoor, really looking forward to that, we managed to sneak that somehow during the pandemic, and we have Inside Edge coming back for season 3, then I am doing another show for ALT Balaji called Cartel, so work should be coming out and I should have a release every few months. I think as an actor and artist if I am able to provide some sort of relief to my fans, it makes me feel grateful because I know the tough times that people across the world are going through right now.''
Murshid with KK Menon, Code M 2, Illegal 2 are some of his other projects in the pipeline.
