Taapsee Pannu VS Kriti Sanon for the Hindi remake of Run Lola Run!

Over the last few years, Bollywood has seen the boom of remakes and even Hollywood films being remade in Hindi. The new year will see a number of remakes, including Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi’s Kizie and Manny- the remake of The Fault in Our Stars, the Bollywood remake of Sylvester Stallone's Rambo starring Tiger Shroff, to name a few. Besides, filmmaker  Farah Khan is planning to remake the Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Sujoy Ghosh is bankrolling the adaptation of Korean thriller Blind with Sonam Kapoor Ahuja in the lead role. 

And the latest to join the brigade is Tanuj Garg and Atul Kasbekar, who have officially bagged the rights to remake German thriller film, Run Lola Run. The film written and directed by Tom Tykwer stars Franka Potente as Lola and Moritz Bleibtreu as Manni, and the story follows a woman who needs to obtain 100,000 Deutsche Mark in twenty minutes to save her boyfriend's life.

While initially Sonam was supposed to play the lead role, the film was pushed by a few years and now, the producers have zeroed in on two top actresses the role: Taapsee Pannu and Kriti Sanon reported Pinkvilla.

"Taapsee Pannu and Kriti Sanon are the top choices for both Tanuj and Atul. They have bounced the idea off to both the heroines who have also liked the script. The story has been modified to suit a more Indian audience. They are figuring out dates and whoever among the two can accommodate their dates, will get the project. Tanuj feels that since it's a heroine driven film, both Taapsee and Kriti, with their projects in 2019 have managed to create their own spaces and proved that they are commercially viable actresses. They wanted someone like that - who is a great performer and also works well with the audience” the website quoted a close source as saying. 

Well, now only time will tell, whether Kriti or Taapsee, who bags the movie!
