Ever since she marked her Bollywood debut with David Dhawan’s Chashme Baddoor alongside Ali Zafar, Siddharth and Divyendu Sharma in 2013, Taapsee Pannu has been impressing the audience with her versatile acting in movies like Pink, Naam Shabana, Judwaa 2, Manmarziyaan, Saand Ki Aankh and many more. Known for her bindass attitude and honest opinions, the actress has never shied away from expressing her views on serious matters.

Now in an interview with Hindustan Times, the Badla actress shared that even though she has experimented with the comedy genre with movies like Judwaa 2, she is not in for sex comedies. She went on to share that making sexual innuendos toward women is not at all entertaining. As quoted by Koimoi, the 32-year-old actress said,

Whatever sex comedies I’ve seen so far, I didn’t find them funny. I’ll never do one because it shows women in a particular light. Making woman the butt of all jokes, having sexual innuendos, double meanings just to titillate the audience is not entertaining. I’m open to doing all these glamourous songs but only for my films where I’m the heroine. I will not do just a random so-called item song. There has to be a very strong reason for me to do that song, apart from that it’ll make me look glamourous.

Being credited for doing impactful and unconventional films, Taapsee also revealed that she does not want to disappoint her audience by taking up convention roles. “So, if I do something conventional, they’ll not like it. To some extent, I’ll also not like it and get bored. I want my audience to believe in me blindly, that’s the niche I want to build for myself.”

“Whenever a film is offered to me, I ask myself will I spend my hard-earned money or three hours of my precious time? If not, then I will not sign up for it,” Taapsee concluded.

On the work front, Taapsee will be seen in Anubhav Sinha’s Thappad, which is based on what women want and how they perceive relationships.
