Taapsee Pannu is one of the few actors of Bollywood who is very cautious of her film choices. Along with a profound choice of scripts, the actress never fails to do justice to her roles. Post her exemplary performance in the film Pink, there has been no stop to the 32-year-old actress. She continued to do some commendable flicks like The Ghazi Attack, Naam Shabana, Soorma, Manmarziyaan and more. The actress received critical appreciation for her performance as a lawyer in the Anubhav Sinha directorial Mulk and the most recent Mission Mangal.
Besides, such niche films, Taapsee has also done a fitting Bollywood comedy-drama flick, like Judwaa 2. However, the actress has been criticized for the same stating that her fans are unhappy with her commercial script choices.
In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, she justified her decision of taking up such films, by saying, “The reason I decided to take up the film was that I wanted to show the audience that I can pull off such a film and character too. Some people in the film industry were of the opinion that I cannot be successful in films like Judwaa 2.”
She further had an epic reply to those fans who questioned her for signing commercial movies. She said, “To my fans, who are unhappy with me for doing Judwaa 2, I would just request them to give Rs 50 crore openings to my upcoming films, and take the total collection to more than Rs 100 crore. Then I assure them that I won’t do films like Judwaa 2.”
Taapsee will be next seen opposite Bhumi Pednekar in Saand Ki Aankh, which is inspired by the lives of real-life oldest shooters in India Chandroo Toma (Shooter Dadi) and her sister in law Prakashi Tomar (Revolver Dadi) from Uttar Pradesh. The film is slated to release on 25 October 2019.
