Swara Bhasker reaches Singhu border to support Farmer’s Protest

On Friday, Swara Bhasker joined the bandwagon of celebrities supporting the farmers protest. She reached the Singhu border to stand in solidarity with the farmers who are protesting against the new farm laws.

The actress shared some pictures on Twitter as she wrote: “A humbling day, to see the grit, resolve and determination of protesting farmers and the elderly at #SinghuBorder #FarmersProtests.”

Recently, Punjabi singer Gippy Grewal had recently expressed disappointment towards the silence of Bollywood celebrities on the ongoing farmers’ protest.  

“Dear Bollywood, every now and then your movies have been shot in Punjab and every time you have been welcomed with open heart. But today when Punjab needs you the most, you didn’t show up and speak a word. Disappointed,” the 37-year-old singer tweeted.

To this, Taapsee Pannu had responded by saying that not all actors have maintained mum over this issue. “Sir , just because the ones u expected to speak up did not please don’t put us all under the same umbrella. Not that the handful of us need validation regarding standing up but it really pulls down our efforts when disregarded” she replied.

Meanwhile, Diljit took the plunge and came down to the Singhu Border to stand in support of the farmers protesting against the new farm bill. He also donated Rs 1 crore to buy warm clothes for the farmers protesting in the harsh Delhi winter.
