Sushmita Sen says her illness was the reason behind Instagram debut, reveals she had become very sick

Almost 25 years ago, Sushmita Sen was crowned Miss Universe at the age of 18. Since then, she has impressed us all with her acting in several films. Now at the age of 43, Sushmita is living her best life. While her daughters Renee and Alisah are the centre of her attention, her relationship with Rohman Shawl doesn’t fail to grab eyeballs.

Now in a recent interaction with Rajeev Masand, Sushmita revealed the actual story behind how and why she joined the photo-sharing platform. "I was very very sick and I have hair that's falling. I have become moon faced and I have steroid deposits. During this time, a thought crossed my mind, if this does kill me, people would never know who I was. So one night, I just got on to Instagram and opened that page,” she said.

When she was asked about her love life, which is clear by her Instagram posts, Sushmita quipped "Being a mum and falling in love, two things I always scream about from the rooftop."
