Sushant’s Dil Bechara Co-Star Sahil Vaid: People Who Claim To Be Aware Of Sushant’s Suffering Have Failed As Friends

Mukesh Chhabra’s Dil Bechara released on July 24, 2020, and struck an emotional chord with the audiences. A sensitive feeling transpired as viewers watched Sushant Singh Rajput for the last time in the movies. The movie marked the debut of Sanjana Sanghi and also starred Sahil Vaid in a pivotal role.

Sushant and Sanjana as Manny and Kizzie in the film won hearts. Sahil Vaid’s character Jagdish "JP" Pandey was highly appreciated by the audience and his camaraderie with late Sushant was a big hit. Based on John Green's 2012 novel The Fault in Our Stars, Dil Bechara marks the directorial debut of Mukesh Chhabra.

We got in touch with JP aka Sahil Vaid for an exclusive chat where he talked about playing a blind cancer survivor, shooting with Sushant Singh Rajput and more.

Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide on June 14 2020. Any reports suggest that the actor was suffering from depression from the last six months, and many of his close friends also suggested he was going through a dull phase. When we asked Sahil if he ever noticed something odd about his Dil Bechara co-star Sushant, he told us:

“I am going to say this with a pinch of salt that people who are claiming to be close to Sushant, if they really were and if they knew what he was going through, they failed as friends. If I was as close to him as I thought I would be someday, I would know if something was going on with him. But of the time that I spent with him, I never saw anything. Every time I met him, he was energetic, he used to light up the room. He would inspire.”

Further, Sahil added: “I didn't see anything wrong with him, or maybe he did not let me see anything. Maybe there are genuine friends who are saying that Sushant was suffering from something, I feel sorry for them that they lost a dear friend and I am sorry that I lost a potential good friend.”

Sahil Vaid plays JP, a cancer survivor who loses his eyesight and having lost a close aunt to cancer, the actor says that it was a special experience for him shooting for Dil Bechara.
