Sushant-Jacqueline starrer Drive gets postponed for third time

The release of Karan Johar’s upcoming action-thriller, Drive starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Jacqueline Fernandez has been pushed for the third time. Initially, the film was supposed to hit the cinema halls in March 2018, but due to delay in shooting the release was pushed to September 2018. Later, due to a few other issues the film was yet again pushed to the 28th of June, 2019. The prominent reason cited for this delay was the issue of post-production. The film is based on racing and needs ample time for editing.

Mentioning a reason for this delay, a source told Mumbai Mirror, “The post-production is taking longer than expected since the film is high on action with multiple racing scenes. Since the bar of action has been raised by both Bollywood and Hollywood spectacles in the last couple of years, the visual effects team is taking its time to get the scale right.”

It was reported that producer Karan Johar isn’t happy with the work and he may release the film digitally. Slamming these rumor reports, the source said, “The final edit has been locked, and presently the film is in the final stage of post-production. Contrary to reports that it is being reshot or will be premiered on the digital platform. Drive is on course to a regular theatrical release in the second half of the year.”

The film being an action thriller has many eye-gauging scenes that will keep the audience hooked to the film. The film is directed by Dostana director, Tarun Mansukhani and it will be his first film after a gap of 11 long years.
