Sushant and Rhea were to Get Married by the End of 2020, Rhea Informs Police in Her Statement

Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput left too soon and ended his life by committing suicide on June 14, 2020. The young actor’s untimely death has raised numerous questions and while the post mortem report states hanging as the reason of the death, the Mumbai Police is also probing professional rivalry, as alleged in connection to the case.

Sushant was suffering from clinical depression for the last six months, and his tragic decision of suicide has stirred up a storm online. The Internet is enraged over ‘nepotism’ in Bollywood and has slammed B-Town biggies for allegedly neglecting ‘outsiders’ in the showbiz.

While the Mumbai Police is investigating the matter, they have summoned the people who had been in contact with the late actor for the last 10 days. Popular Bollywood casting director and director of Sushant’s upcoming film Dil Bechara, Mukesh Chabbra was among the first ones to record his statement, in connection to the case.

On Thursday, June 18, Sushant’s rumoured girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty was called by the Police for interrogation at the Bandra Police Station. Rhea was accompanied by her father and the interrogation went on for nine long hours.

During the interrogation, Rhea opened up about numerous things including her relationship with Sushant Singh Rajput. The duo was rumoured to be dating for a long time, however, neither of them ever came on record and confirmed it. But now, Rhea has let it all open.

A Pinkvilla report quoted a source who revealed all the things recorded in Rhea’s statement. According to the report, Rhea confirmed that she was living with Sushant at his Carter Road penthouse which he had rented along with his friend, Siddharth Patani. A few days before Sushant committed suicide, the couple had a fight and Rhea decided to move out.

Owing to the closeness shared between the two actors, the Police reportedly scanned Rhea’s phone and she was asked to show all her messages as well. "Rhea was asked to show all the text messages exchanged between the two. Her entire phone was scanned, including all their pictures and videos together. Rhea spoke about living in with Sushant and also revealed that they were planning to buy a property as well, as revealed by their broker previously” the source said.

Rhea also confirmed that Sushant and she had decided to get married by the end of 2020. “She admitted that they did plan to get married by the end of 2020," the source adds. 

Earlier,  Sushant’s cousin brother had informed India TV that the actor was to get married in November and the family was gearing up for the wedding preparations. While Sushant’s brother did not mention the girl’s name to whom the actor was getting married to, the report states that the family was planning to visit Mumbai after the lockdown and the wedding was planned to be a private affair with only close friends and family in attendance.
