Rajinikanth, the iconic South Indian superstar, has ruled the film industry for five decades. However, speculations about his retirement from acting continue to make headlines. In a recent interview, renowned filmmaker and actor Mysskin, also part of Lokesh Kanagaraj's film, revealed details about Rajinikanth's Thalaivar 171. According to Mysskin, Rajinikanth has personally approached Lokesh Kanagaraj to direct his last film. The announcement has created excitement among fans, although an official confirmation is still awaited. While it remains uncertain if Thalaivar 171 will indeed be his last film, the prospect of Rajinikanth working with Lokesh Kanagaraj has generated a buzz.

Meanwhile, he is currently occupied with shooting his daughter Aishwaryaa's directorial venture, Lal Salaam. The superstar has been shuttling between locations in Mumbai for the film, where he plays a cameo role as Moideen Bhai. Produced by Lyca Productions, Lal Salaam is scheduled for release later this year.

Additionally, the superstar has recently wrapped up shooting for the film Jailer, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. In this action-packed film, Rajinikanth portrays the character of a determined jailer on a mission. The movie also features acclaimed actors such as Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, and Jackie Shroff in pivotal roles. With supporting cast members including Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Vasanth Ravi, and Vinayakan, Jailer is set to hit theatres during the Vinayaka Chaturthi Festival in August.

Looking ahead, Rajinikanth has announced his next project with director TJ Gnanavel, known for the critically acclaimed film Jai Bhim. Reports suggest that famous actor Chiyaan Vikram is in talks to play the antagonist in this upcoming venture.
