Sunny Leone escapes arrest in alleged financial fraud of Rs 29 lakhs

A complaint was filed against Sunny Leone for allegedly taking Rs. 29 lakhs from an event manager promising to attend various inaugural functions in the state but failed to do so.

In a sigh of relief for Sunny Leone, the actress has been restrained from arrest by the Kerala High Court in an alleged cheating case.

An events manager in Kochi alleged that Sunny took Rs. 29 lakh from him while promising to attend various inaugural functions in the state but failed to do so. The case is related to a 2019 event.

In the latest update, the Kerala High Court has restrained the Crime Branch from arresting actor Sunny Leone in connection with an alleged financial fraud of Rs 29 lakhs. The order has come after considering the anticipatory bail plea of the actor, reports ANI.

Recently, Sunny Leone issued a statement in connection to the case and refuted the claims levelled against her. She even accused the event managers of untimely payment.

“Such slanderous claims and unethical behaviour on part of the event co-ordinators are deeply hurtful and unsolicited. I have already given the statement to the investigating officers and they are investigating the co-ordinators as well. Let law take its course," read an excerpt from her statement.
