Sunny Deol's new post hinting at his next; fans guessing it to be Gadar 2

Bollywood actor Sunny Deol has taken to his social media to share a teaser poster of his upcoming project with a promise to announce ‘something very special’ on Dussehra.

The poster has number '2' written on it, indicating that it is the second part of a previous film. 

It also has a line, 'The Katha Continues...' written on it. 

It can be noted that Sunny's blockbuster film, 'Gadar' also had a tagline that read, 'Ek Prem Katha'. 

Fans were obviously quick to guess that his upcoming film has to be 'Gadar 2'.

Along with the poster, Sunny wrote, 

'Announcing Something very special and close to my heart tomorrow at 11 am. Watch this space tomorrow.'

Recently, a report in Pinkvilla suggested that the Anil Sharma directorial will reportedly go on floors from November 2021. 

According to the report, Anil Sharma and his team of writers have been trying to crack the plot of a sequel to ‘Gadar’ for a while now and they finally have the entire screenplay in place.

Elaborating further, the report added that much like the first part, the sequel too will speak of the India – Pakistan conflict with Sunny Deol taking down the entire country. 

The pre-production work has already begun and the makers are gearing up to take the film on floors around the month of November.

While Gadar was set during the partition of India in 1947, its sequel will move ahead with the India-Pakistan angle. The cast of the film will remain the same, revealed a source close to the film's production in 2019. 

A source told PTI

"We have been working on the Gadar sequel for 15 years. Gadar will show the story of Tara (Sunny Deol), Sakeena (Ameesha Patel) and Jeet (their son). The story will move ahead with the India-Pakistan angle. Gadar is incomplete without it. The cast will remain the same, like how we have seen in films like Baahubali, Rambo, Fast and Furious, etc. We have discussed the idea with Sunny. We can't disclose anything at the moment".

Other than Sunny Deol and Amisha Patel, Gadar also featured late actor Amrish Puri and Lillette Dubey in the supporting roles.
