It seems actor Sunny Deol is finally willing to deep-dive into the new look of content-driven cinema after having made a career out of some of the biggest blockbusters in the past. Deol has been roped in to play the lead in the upcoming Hindi film remake of the Malayalam film, Joseph.
The Malayalam film released back in 2018 that starred Joju George in the lead role. The film revolves around the titular character, a sharp-witted retired cop who is brought on board to investigate a murder. Not only did the film receive critical acclaim but it also earned George's performance a special mention at the 2019 National Film Awards.
When it comes to Deol playing the lead in the Hindi remake, the core story is said to remain the same but the setting will be tweaked for the Hindi-speaking audience and will be set in Jaipur instead.
The film will be helmed by M Padmakumar, who has also directed the original film. Deol is said begin shooting for it from April onwards in a start-to-finish schedule.
Apart form this, Deol has the much-awaited sequel to his mega blockbuster film planned as well in the form of Gadar 2 and the sequel to Apne in the form of Apne 2 where he reunites with his family and also has his son Karan Deol playing an important role.
