Suniel Shetty on nepotism

The nepotism debate on star-kids is no new. Star Kids like Abhishek Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Athiya Shetty, Janhvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan amongst other have received humongous flak initially during their debut film for being a starkid and have gotten an easy debut. Recently, Ananya Panday too got criticized and was called a result of Nepotism. Amidst all, producer Karan Johar keeps getting the negative remarks on nepotism from the netizens.

India Times, recently interacted with Suniel and asked him about Nepotism. To this Shetty had a spontaneous reply, he said, “We always say kids watch and learn so my kids have seen this world and have learned acting, they also want to become actors. An IAS would want his or her child to become an IAS because we are comfortable in that. This is our world, yes they get a break, but after first Friday you have to prove yourself, so it’s only unfair."

"All this debate around nepotism has been sparked after social media has come. Today people are unreasonable, unhappy, so they remove their frustration on us, so that is why I keep myself away from all this. I use Twitter only to wish good to people. When negative talks come, I don’t even respond, I think it’s very important for all us to live in a real world than this virtual world created by social media,” added Suniel.

Suniel Shetty's daughter Athiya Shetty debuted with Salman Khan produced Hero opposite Sooraj Pancholi in 2015. Now, his son Ahan Shetty will be soon debuting in the world of cinema with Milan Luthria's directorial that is a remake of popular Telugu film RX100.

Work wise, Suniel will be seen in Mohanlal’s Malayalam movie Marakkar - Arabikadalinte Simham.
