The monsoons have brought the much-needed cheer to beat the summer but not everyone's skin and hair is compatible with the moist weather. Hair tend to get all frizzy, tangled and lifeless. The elasticity of strands get easily affected due to the humidity, leading to a lot of hair fall.
Fret not, as we compile you a list of do's and dont's to make your hair look like a million bucks this monsoon!
The thumb rule to maintaining healthy hair during monsoon would be to keep your hair dry as far as possible. While women tend to lose anywhere between 50 to 60 strands of hair at every wash, the number usually multiplies to 200 in the rains.
We have endless products to damage control but would all of those look good on you when you have an important party to attend or a board room meet?
We enlist some chic monsoon hairstyles which will make you look edgy, funky and super stylish this season.
The "I am sexy and I know it" bun

This one instantly transforms you into a super confident diva, who spells class and style. It looks apt and elegant for a formal party as well as a casual one. It especially helps one to look neat and tidy, irrespective of damp sticky hair. For a funky look, one can also opt for a loose messy bun. Having your hair up in the monsoon is a great idea and what better than trendy bun hairstyles!

Braids are my personal favourite for this season, whether it's a fishtail, French braid, or the regular braid, plaits allow your hair to escape the sweaty mess during monsoon season. Braids seem to have been specially designed for the monsoons as they keep the frizz under control, and make your hair manageable.

The humble ponytail has been around for a while, has had it's highs and it's lows (pun intended) and is like that knight in shining armor, who always comes to the rescue when you are having a bad hair day. This look could either work with the feminine flirty approach or with strong, chic leanings. If you do not like your hair all in a bunch one can also opt for a half pony!

Puff hairstyles have always been around, from the Victorian era with large regent puffs to the runway with outlandish puffs. You can have side puffs or vertical puffs on the top of your head. It can be as big as you want and as small as you like. A puff is the best way to make a hairstyling statement. A small puff on the front of head makes you look taller and also elongates your face. It is great if you have round face. Add some curls to look even better. Flat hair... What's that?!
